I cannot think of anyone, they seem like polar opposites. I guess someone who likes to vote for independents.

Economically liberal Southern voter who opposed desegregation but lightened up on it during the 70s. They liked Carter initially and voted for him in 1976, but found his performance as president very disappointing and voted for Anderson as a protest.

Perpetually dissatisfied protest voter

Pretty much this - there are probably a non-negligible number of voters who went for G Wallace, Anderson, Perot X2 and Nader. Maybe even Johnson in 2016, although Trump probably tapped into a lot of this kind of vote.
