Caldwell is a majority Latino, suburban county on the eastern fringes of Austin. It had a very robust Democratic swing in 2020 but still voted Trump.

The Republican nominee, by a larger margin than 2020. If people are expecting Texas to be competitive in 2024, they are going to be extremely dissapointed

I expect TX to probably see a slight swing left from 2020 to 2024. At the moment.
We shall see as we get closer to the actual election. It's a long time away.
As for Caldwell County, it could vote Trump with the state going Biden. It would depend on the Biden vote share in the DFW metroplex.

Personally I voted for Option 1 because I doubt Ds will do that well.

Republican, but I think it'll be tight there.

Republican hold.

The county is lately five points within state margins. Sometimes the tilt is more Republican; sometimes more Democratic.

A Democratic pickup of the state of Texas, for U.S. President, would be needed to also win a Democratic pickup of Caldwell County, Texas.

GOP for sure.  The Austin and Houston burbs are closer to Charlotte burbs than Atlanta.
