Should the Democrats have all-Southern tickets? One possible all-Southern ticket, Warnock/Ford Jr., seems particularly strong; in combination, these two candidates would provide a numerous advantages not replicable by other candidates.
- Ideological balance: Raphael Warnock appeals to more progressive Democrats, and Harold Ford Jr. appeals to more conservative Democrats (i.e. Blue Dog Democrats). Having both on the ticket could unify these two wings of the Democratic Party.
- Geographic advantage: Raphael Warnock and Harold Ford Jr. are both Southern Democrats. The South has, in recent years, been one of the weakest regions of the Democratic Party. Having an all-Southern ticket could help the Democratic Party in this region of the country.
Would this be a strong ticket? How would such a ticket perform in a real general election?
