With RFK Jr.'s double digits in polls, including 19% in a FOX poll, should he be considered a major candidate now?

I think we should wait and see. There's a good chance his numbers plummet after the liberal media gives him the Bernie/Yang/Tulsi treatment. The democratic base is much more cultish to the media than the Republican base is.

You mean the liberal media that came out against Biden when he took away their beloved war in Afghanistan? I'm being a little hyperbole here, though I just don't see a general liberal bias of the entire media. MSNBC is known for a liberal bias, though reality often has a liberal bias.

More likely Kennedy's poll numbers plummet after more Dems find out his anti-vax and pro life stances, among others, are way out of touch with the party.

On the one hand, he has no chance of actually winning.

On the other, he has a good shot at the best performance of a primary challenger to a sitting President of any candidate since at least Buchanan. He's certainly more of a major candidate than any of the 1-5% clowns running as Republicans like Nikki Haley or Liz Cheney and for some reason people treat them like major candidates. Arguably he's even more or a major candidate than DeSantis.

I think the problem is that, with an incumbent who is highly favored to win re-election, it's hard to say any competition is "major." I voted "yes" simply because Kennedy Jr. is a bigger name and has the potential to pull some votes his way, but no matter what, I fail to see any Democratic opponents to Biden as "major."

Just my view on it, of course.

No, in the sense that I can't imagine him getting to delegate viability levels pretty much anywhere outside of registered Democrats who are functionally Republicans protest voting territory.

I'm glad I'm not yet terminally online enough to know what "mald" means.

Despite his high name recognition RFK Jr.'s main feature is that he's an anti-vaxxer conspiracy nutjob, who believes that the 2004 election was stolen and that Sirhan Sirhan was not responsible for his own father's death.

So probably not.

No.  It's his last name that makes him register at all as a candidate.  Barely..

The Australians who post on Atlas are total weirdos, unlike a New Zealander like myself who is completely sane.

I'm an Atlas poster, and I don't even know which party he's running with, so I'm gonna say no.

Possible he will be the strongest primary challenger to a sitting president since 1992, although that doesn't really say much. I expect his numbers to drop as he gets more publicity due to his stances.
