I think the only way he can possibly salvage whatever is left of his career is to take the vp slot with trump. It’s a win win for everyone!!

1. Floridians win bc he’s thankfully no longer governor!

3. The Dems win bc the ticket itself locks down Florida but Biden isn’t spending money here anyway so it’s wasted resources geographically
4. The American people win bc we get to dodge a major bullet when the ticket goes down in flames.
5. The GOP wins (gasp) if and only if they can see that trump and trumpism is a no way forward and they are dragged kicking and screaming! They probably have to lose Texas though to really budge.

The FL Legislature has changed the "Resign-To-Run" Law with an Amendment that allows DeSantis running for the Presidency while still being Governor.

In 2000 George W. Bush ran for the Presidency while still being Governor of Texas.
