Trump has repeatedly bashed DeSantis. Republicans, who are surprisingly loyal to Trump, would adopt his viewpoints regarding DeSantis and would view the Florida governor unfavorably. With the attacks against DeSantis, is DeSantis losing the 2026 Florida Gubernatorial Election? If so, is he losing the primary or the general?

He's term-limited in 2026. He can't run for threelection.

Yup, by the same margin Jerry Brown lost the 2018 CA gubernatorial election. Total wipeout just 4 years after winning with nearly 60% of the vote last time.

He’s DOA, just like Gretchen Whitmer is.

Well, despite the fact that Florida law says that he cannot run for a third term in 2026, he is certainly going to lose when he snaps his fingers and magically overturns the law.

My personal prediction is that he loses 73–27 to a 70 year old ex-janitor who once worked at Nickelodeon Studios Orlando in the mid 90s

Yes. Much like Jerry brown In 2014, or for a presidential example, Barack Obama in 2012, he’s DOA for the next election.

Well, it's worth noting that Florida Republicans do have enough legislative seats to unilaterally refer a constitutional amendment abolishing gubernatorial term limits if they really wanted to.  I mean, they are already trying to edit the resign to run law for him!

No because he CANNOT run for a 3rd term. The better question is who will win the Gov race in 2026. Hard to know…let’s see how high or low the threshold of tolerance is for right wing extremism here. I’m not hopeful.

The only way Democrats can win FL GOV 2026 if it's a Republican Midterm and Republicans nominate someone like Matt Gaetz or Laura Loomer.

Otherwise it will probably be a 3 or 4-way Primary between Lt. Governor Jeannette Nunez, Attorney General Ashley Moody, Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis and potentially Gaetz.

They cannot. To change the term limit they must pass an amendment, which requires 60% voter approval.

That's what refer means.  To put it on the ballot (in this case without needing initiative signatures).

No bc he’s term-limited. Even if he wasn’t, 2026 FL GOV would still be Safe R.

@TodayJunior
Governor Ron DeSantis WON and you have lost.

After the Florida State Senate passed the amended "Resign-To-Run" Law 28-12 a couple of Days ago today the Florida House passed that Bill 76-34. The Bill now heads to DeSantis' Desk for Signature.

It would allow the Governor to run for the Presidency while still being Governor.

You are not going to get rid of "America's Governor" any time soon at least not until January 2027!

The Resign-to-Run law is an elaborate practical joke being played on DeSatanist by his fellow Republicans. They want to see him humiliated in the primary.

Yes, just like how Barack Obama lost the 2016 Presidential election. He failed to even win a single delegate in the primary, how embarassing.

olawakandi and various Republicans have been trying to warn you for several months that Ron DeSantis is a losing horse in the 2,024 Guineas. I'm glad to see you're listening.
