1. The Government of Lincoln re-affirms LGC 11.59 - Resolution to Defend the Republic, and further stipulates:
a. The Government of Lincoln shall come to the aid of the Republic of Atlasia should another region or state attempt to dissolve the union by seceding, following a vote in support of doing so by the LGC.

given the current moves further towards independence by certain actors, re-affirming the commitment we made last session is needed. We will stand with Atlasia.

What does "come to the aid of" mean in the context of lawful secession? A group hug?

If i'll be elected governor, i won't use the Lincoln defence forces against another region. That's barbaric. IIRC we did get rid of our military and defence, because I believe that is a federal authority.

I will be vetoeing this as well in case i'm governor. LGC 11.59 suffices. I have no interest in a civil war. I've been taught to deal with matters through peace & diplomacy, in particular domestic matters. Hence, why i'm part of the party "Peace".

Secondly. If we use military force to prevent another region or state attempt to secede, we would be the attacker and not the defender.

I approve of the amendment, and I drop my opposition to this resolution.

But I want to note that i don't want a military conflict with the south, and my concerns is mostly on how this could be interpreted as such.

Aside of that, of course i'm committed to the republic.

Doing my part for now: hopefully in the future, the sentiment of this chamber will continue to prevail and be aligned with - if the only two choices that remain - burning the South to the ground before letting this Republic dissolve into nothingness. Given "the President" of the South attempted to shut off fuel supply to Lincoln last night...well, get ready.
