On policy, Trump. As far as preserving the basic institutions/fundamentals of the country are concerned I'm honestly uncertain at this point.

Genuinely hard to tell, as Trump is more of a danger to the world while DeSantis is more likely to result in an extended period of authoritarian rule in America.

The 'lesser evil', or the 'better' option is Desantis. He has his flaws, but he is not an uninformed, insane megalomaniac with little to no regard for morality or other people. Trump was the one who promoted the 2020 election conspiracy theory, set the stage for the January 6th violence, lies to the public and is a wholly immoral person.

Regarding Desantis, I have areas of agreement and disagreement with him, but he is a just a regular American conservative politician, with the typical culture war posturing, some good ideas on economics but might struggle with their implementation and willingness to be somewhat controversial to rile up the base. No comparison to the level of immorality and evil of Trump.
