Quote
Florida’s Senate Bill 1718 is much worse than even Arizona’s notorious SB 1070 in 2010, which turned every police officer in that state into an immigration agent. The wide-ranging assault would make it a felony for anyone to give someone they know or should “reasonably” know to be an undocumented immigrant a ride, a job or shelter, punishable with up to five years in prison — and up to 15 years if the immigrant is a minor.

In addition, the bill would ban out-of-state tuition waivers at colleges and universities for undocumented students; invalidate out-of-state licenses given to undocumented immigrants, such as those issued by California; prevent undocumented immigrants from becoming attorneys; require hospitals to collect data about the immigration status of patients and the costs they incur; and require that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The bill would also make it a felony for someone to use false identification to obtain a job and punish employers who don’t use the federal E-verify program to check immigrants’ documents.

Such changes would have a chilling effect on immigrant communities in Florida and turn good Samaritans or even family members into criminals. Clergy members who minister to undocumented immigrants would be forced to choose between helping those in need and their concern about potential criminal penalties. People who employ undocumented gardeners, nannies or housekeepers would have to fire them or face criminal charges.

For all of the crap he's moved right on that's unpopular, he's moving right on an issue on which voters agree with republicans:

Here's the full text of the bill.

If he wants to win secular people on the right and in the center -- this is a great first step.

For context, the poll referenced in the tweet asked "Which political party’s views are closer to your own on each of the following issues?".

The breakdown for immigration was GOP 40%, Dems 30% and neither party 29%

FL now is a battleground state since they put 6 week abortion ban, it's still hard to see RS losing red states but anything is possible in a Prez now Midterm cycle

Emerson had a mnth ago Biden tied in FL, and they all vote before CA if RS lose 1 red states before CA comes in they will have to concede like Romney lost OH

RS have no room for error Biden has AZ, VA or GA to win to get over 270 but we need red states to keep S

10 pm CST or 11 pm EST a concession speech

D's are losing WI, MI and PA Casey up 7 and we won WI by 11
