Good result for Edwards and Richardson. Poor showing for Clinton and Obama. This doesn't really mean anything though.

Clinton's lead in the DNC should be no surprise; she's much more "establishment" than Obama or Edwards. Romney is a bit of a surprise; I would have expected Gingrich for the RNC.

Also, neither the DNC nor the RNC is party "activists", per se. They're the political elite of the parties.

-Gravel, Kucinich, and Sharpton don't have a lot of friends among Democrats. The latter two not too surprising I guess. Kucinich didn't give up all of his delegate votes in 2004 and is socialist. Sharpton is, well, bombastic, and his speech at the 2004 Convention that riled the Kerry staff.
-Undecided still leads for both parties.
-A decent number of Republicans could not support McCain. I'm assuming that's the arch-conservatives. What do some Republicans have against Chuck Hagel?

My problem with Chuck is that he said that we should CONSIDER bringing back the draft. Now I know he may not be for this but still if he runs any half intelligent opponent can just tag him as a pro draft candidate and he loses the primary, if somehow he makes it through he loses all 50 states.

I'm not sure how out of touch party establishment members are activist.

If you include 2nd place votes, she's not sitting so pretty:

Clinton 34
Edwards 33
Obama 33
Richardson 24
Gore 17
Biden 9
Vilsack 4
Dodd 2
Clark 2
Gravel 0
Kucinch 0
Sharpton

Yup... Romeny was for abortion, before he was against it.  Or was he against it before he was for it?  Hmmmm... I think it is both.  Yeah... he was for... against... for it... damn, I'm so confused.

Well, if a draft ever came to be, the typical Republican's support for the war would drop off a cliff IMO. When you're not sacrificing anything, support is easy. When you're sacrificing your firstborn, it's a completely different story.

As a person connected to military personnel that have been deployed over the past couple years, I will say that the number of available military is limited. We are deployed in Afghanistan, Iraq, and have standing military in South Korea. If something else happens, like say China annexes Taiwan forcefully, North Korea attacks South Korea, or Iran makes their presence known in Iraq, our country's armed forces are truly f***ed cause we just don't have the people, and then there will be a draft unless the administration wants to lose due to stretching our forces too thin.
