So the Republicans nominate Giuliani and win? That's what it looks like at this stage. Mind you, we're still over 18 months away...

Looking that way; indeed, a base I/D of 36% Independent, 35% Democrat and 25% Republican looks rather concerning Sad from a Democratic perspective

Indeed, it's still early days. And as to whether, Giuliani continues this 'walk on water' all the way to the GOP nomination I don't know. There's ample time for him, or any other serious contender, whether Republican or Democrat, to sink yet

That's also good for McCain, given he loses narrowly with a majority being independents and democrats. That means many indes and dems would still vote for McCain.

Nevertheless, as a McCain supporter, I must say I am becoming concerned that Rudy's big momentum may be sweeping across. With less than a year before our nominee is set in stone (Feb 5th) every candidate needs to get on the ball.

Going by the RCP poll average:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/national.html

if you average all the polls, Clinton is now doing worse in general election matchups against all three GOP frontrunners than both Edwards and Obama.  So if you blindly assume that these poll numbers will carry over into the general election, she's the least electable of the three.
