Every single juror identity going to leak, and they're going to have their lives ruined, just like those poll workers in 2020. What a totally f'd situation.

If they can't handle it, they can excuse themselves, just like juror 2 did.

I guess you would have the same cavalier attitude if instead of your Cheeto God the accused was a mob boss and followed the same tactics.

"OMG, Trump didn't stand" ... ??

Trump paying close attention to potential jurors, craning his neck to get a good look

Donald Trump appears to be paying close attention to prospective jurors seated in the jury box as they answer their questionnaires for the court.

At one point during their responses, Trump shifted his chair to get a better look at the potential panelists. He has his head tilted back and is leaning in his chair as he cranes his neck to get a closer look while they speak.

The only thing that's more stupid than freaking out over Trump not standing is defending it by saying he's been turning his neck.

Quote from: the extremely self-explanatory tweet you're replying to & evidently seem confused by
In my over 20 years practicing criminal law, I have never observed a defendant refuse to stand and face the jury.

Any competent lawyer would tell their client that his fate is in the jury's hands and they will watch everything he does.

Trump's disrespect for the jury is unwise.

Disrespecting followed by glaring at the crowd he has had to specifically be compelled under court order to not intimidate ain't the win you think it is

Who's freaking out? It's appropriate legal commentary for a criminal trial to note that unusual disrespect for the jury by the defendant on trial is typically disincentivized from the standpoint of being a criminal defendant whose fate is ultimately the jury's to decide.

The real snake is the con man on trail. He’s going to forcibly leak and get a lot of hate/death threats to the jury as soon as he can and be proud of it. He’s going to convince himself on record time!

I almost wonder if Trump actually believes that legal myth (similar to the one that undercover cops aren't allowed to lie to you), that you can be a complete ass to the judge and jury and then get the trial nullified on the grounds they were unfairly biased against you.

Every single juror identity going to leak, and they're going to have their lives ruined, just like those poll workers in 2020. What a totally f'd situation.

If they can't handle it, they can excuse themselves, just like juror 2 did.

Why should they have to?

“If they can’t handle it” jesus christ, maybe juries shouldn’t have to worry about being killed or harassed by some lunatic? What a wonderful situation you people have created for this country…

Interesting. I thought he was a pro-Trump juror.

Good for Trump! Two for two!

How about a change of venue? People wouldn't be worried then.

To where?! Where in the United States, exactly, does Trump not inspire strong feelings?

The jury pool should really just be drawing from people who have just woken up from being in a coma for at least the last 10 years.

I live upstate. He inspires strong feelings here. If you're going to try to excuse this, you'll need to try harder.

I'm not a lawyer but isn't the speech that endangers other people's safety and lives unprotected by the first amendment?
I mean if it isn't then you can reveal the whereabouts of a person in witness protection and suffer no consequences.

Prior restraint of speech posing a serious & imminent threat to a protected competing interest like juror safety can be 1A-kosher but it's obviously an inherently very fine line to tread when involving the press.

I'm trying to find a solution. Change of venue is a logical next step to try to avoid this.

You could hold the trial anywhere in America, even the territories, and Trump's team would still try to doxx, harass, and threaten the jurors.
