OSR,
I think the Grand Jury did the right thing! Mister Trump needs once and for all realize that he isn't above the Law.

However I think that this Indictment is only a prelude of what's to come. I think Garland and the DOJ will charge Trump too since he delibirately told his Attorneys to lie when it comes to the classified Documents.

Idk why people think this would ensure Trump wins the GOP nomination…if a wave of indictments from this, GA, etc, keep dropping I really do think a plurality of Republican voters will defect to Desantis, Scott, or Pence.

My sources report that death penalty, for his role in a hush money payment to a porn star, is being considered for Donald Trump. I am pro-life and take no pleasure in reporting this.

It’s nuts. Y’all think the other geezers up in Congress aren’t paying some hush money? Truly the least of all crimes to prosecute, this is going to just make polarization worse, propel a fascist, AND is just a plain dumb reason to prosecute.

Maybe the people getting arrested should be the ones killing the planet, gutting our middle class and passing bills that violate the constitution.

Then you don't know Republican primary voters well enough. They were ride-or-die for Trump before, and now they're pretty much even more like the War Boys from 'Mad Max: Fury Road.'

Depends what classified documents he had , as if he had ones about our nuclear weapons then yes he’d definitely be charged over it but I think Jan 6th is the more likely one as if he had nuclear secrets then he’d already have been charged by now over it .

Sorry to disappoint you OSR, but presidents are not god kings who answer to nobody.

We are a nation of laws, whether you like it or not.

Should Clinton have gone to prison for perjury then . This is literally the equivalent of that and the answer is obviously Clinton should not have .

Breaking decades of precedent over this is beyond moronic

Bold of you to assume anyone in 2023 is going to bother defending Bill Clinton.

I would

No Democrat would and yet you, a Republican, would. How bizarre.

In an ideal world, Clinton should've gone to prison for rape.

And yes, Nixon, Bush, and his cronies all should've been put in prison as well. Now of course there certainly are people in this country who are above the law. That doesn't mean it should be that way.

Should he have been charged with perjury? Maybe. If it could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed perjury, then yes. (People make fun of the “depends on what the meaning of is is” thing, but he actually had a viable defense).

Should Clinton have gone to prison over it? Maybe not. Probation for first time offenders is a thing.

imagine being told 10 years ago that one of greatest tests of american democracy would be how the american people react to a reality tv show host making a hush money payment to a porn star

I’ll give OSR this: he is not a partisan hack.

He’s willing to reach across the aisle to argue that certain people should be above the law. An equal opportunity boot-licker.

On sportsbet.com.au, President Trump's odds of winning the 2024 US Presidential Election have shortened from $4.50 to $3.75.

Stormy Daniels appears to only have a positive effect on his political brand.

It's a good thing that white-collar crime is being cracked down on, actually.

No, there’s certainly a sizable amount that are Trumpers, but maybe only 30% are true Trump or die. I think if the Koch’s, Murdoch, Chamber of Commerce, etc all pooled their money together and rallied behind Desantis I think they would be successful in stopping Trump. I really do believe that.

But hey, I could be wrong. If I am, I’ll accept that, but I really just think a slow drip drip drip of indictments is actually a BAD thing for Trump. Lots of Republicans I know (I grew up in a Trump +20 county) are all done with him.
