LIMITING BALLOT CHICANERY ACT

1. The Federal Electoral Act of 2019 shall be amended as follows:

6. No voter may edit their ballot once twenty minutes have passed since its casting, nor may they delete their own ballot - either of these actions render the voter and ballot invalid for the election, and neither that ballot nor any . No other ballot cast by that a voter in the same election shall be counted other than the voter's first ballot.

Ill let Spiral handle this for the most part, but this would ban a big party from trying to bully a voter, lets hypothetically call him Timmie, into intentionally double voting to disqualify a legitimate ballot on the grounds that the big party doesnt like who Timmie voted for. Its one thing to be able to correct your ballot for 20 minutes and quite another to say "your vote shouldnt count at all".

So I think the intention here is to ignore double posting vs having it invalidate people? If so, you would also need to strike this language from Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution.

All posts made in the voting booth shall be considered as ballots, and no citizen shall cast multiple ballots in any one election during the period the voting booth is open, upon penalty of the invalidation of their vote.

I believe the sponsor should advocate for this bill before it goes to a final vote. Barely anyone has commented on this legislation. With that being said, I favor the bill.

Ugly, intimidative tactics on changing voters' ballots (and thus potentially elections) should not be tolerated. This bill is a measure to better specify the validity of any Atlasian's first recorded vote, free of outside influence. It would protect the integrity of the choices that voters truly wish to make, provided all other election rules are in compliance.

I support this. The game has had a problem with people or parties of influence intimidating voters to invalidate, going back for more than ten years. But as Wulfric pointed out there is a constitutional problem with the bill, so either the bill should be amended to modify the Constitution or we should pass separate legislation.

People are going to comment on how others have voted, and some people will have regrets. It's just the nature of Discord and Atlas that people do interact with each other. As far as I know though, there hasn't been a real case of voter intimidation in years.
