Quote
Lincoln Shall Benefit from Greenland Act

1. If the Federal Greenland deal is signed into law and implemented, it is the official position of the Lincoln Government that Lincoln should be entitled to at least one third of all revenues, resources, and benefits resulting from the purchase.

2. Lincoln shall not provide any funding to assist with the purchase or its implementation if the above demand is not met.

3. No part of this legislation shall be construed to imply support for the deal itself by any member of Lincoln Government.

This simple bill ensures that if the Greenland deal is enacted, Lincoln will benefit from it. While I still hold out hope that Cao will veto it or that the Tack administration will expeditiously move to repeal it, neither of those outcomes are certain. Therefore, we must ensure that the South is not allowed to take all the revenue and resources for itself.

This is sensible, all things considered.

I also hope to see either the outgoing or incoming administration voice opposition to the deal.

So you want the benefits, which you guys do under Federal law due to programs if you knew how Federalism works, but also do not want to foot the bill for this lol.

I was under the impression that the Southern Region is providing the $15 billion for the proposed purchase.

Quote from: §2A
A. $15 Billion is hereby accepted from the Southern Region to fulfill the purchase price to Denmark referenced above.

Regardless of funding, which no one really mentioned but we are footing funding to make this a state, the "bill" just literally said "we want a third, but will not pay for anything".

Which in itself is a stupid argument, if we are being honest, but this bill in itself is unconstitutional and we will sue.
