To the surprise of no one, Haley would get crushed one-on-one by Trump but might spoil DeSantis, who has a chance against Trump one-on-one. Actually pretty impressive the poll shows him down only 2 even in a wide field.

Of course, DeSantis is going to have to grow a spine and not bend over when Trump attacks him for being a "groomer" and such. He needs to have a better strategy for dealing with the buzzsaw that is Trump than any previous Republican opponent before him.

DeSantis seems like hes gonna use the W strategy of having his surrogates go scorch earth for him and btw that is the best strategy to use against Trump. Have your surrogates go scorch earth against Trump and bait Trump into looking desperate like he is now.

In 2015 Most Republicans just assumed Trump would crash by himself so they attacked each other while Trump stayed on message and then when it was clear they started to join in the mud fight and btw that ended up not working.

DeSantis needs to take a page from W's book if hes gonna win the primary as W is the GOP nominee since 1988 best suited to have defeated Trump(Jeb btw didnt learn from W much at all here)

It’s a catch 22…he either looks weak and fades, or hits back and either pisses off Trump supporters or turns off Romney-Clinton types who want someone who is the “adult in the room”.
