How many are left? They are a dying breed so how much longer before they're gone like Southern Democrats?

As a side question : do these guys fare better in elections or not? They aren't Trumpers I assume?

Neoconservatism proper- as in the Neo-Reaganite Foreign Policy envisioned by the Project for the New American Century and designed to preserve American hegemony, prevent the emergence of a new rival, and promote American influence in the Middle East toward those ends- is kind of dead. The popular stance for warhawks now concedes that China is already the main counterbalance to the US, and they seem to be less arm-in-arm with neoliberals in advocating for friendshoring whereas the old neocons believed globalization would deepen global hierarchies and ultimately weaken China. Semantics, but it's an important distinction IMO. The new hawks don't prioritize what the old ones did.

Most GOP Senators and around half of the House GOP have a neocon foreign policy.
And some like Roger Wicker or Dan Crenshaw are more warmongery than George Bush.

Tom Cotton is really the only person I can think of who can be called a 2002/2003 type neocon.

They don't have a bright future because their vote won't come back.

All NeoCon voters have been Democrats for 10 years now, and are almost exclusively disillusioned old aged republicans, a mirror image of old aged disillusioned democrats.

Which is natural, as people age they become bitter and disappointed with their earlier beliefs and flip.

This seems too long, certainly neocons voted R in 2014 and 2016 downballot. I doubt there was any major loyalty changes to Dems until after 2018.
