AN ACT
To promote domestic growth of huckleberries and cut red tape

Be it enacted by the Parliament of Frémont assembled;

Section 1. Title

This legislation may be cited as the Huckleberry Act.

Section 2. Repeal and prohibition of silly unenforced law

1. No state or territory in the Commonwealth of Frémont shall require any resident to report to the local or state government the presence of huckleberries on their properties.

Section 3. Huckleberry conservation

1. $50 million shall be appropriated FY2024 for the promotion of huckleberry growth. No less than 25% of this money shall fund scientific research approved to study plant growth.

This bill repeals a silly regulation in Montana that requires residents, ranchers and farmers to disclose patches of huckleberry on their property. The law has never been funded or enforced.

But it is precisely because of the rarity of the huckleberry that we should promote growth and conservation. As the article explains, the conditions which result in huckleberry growth (high altitudes and acid-rich soil) makes them perfect for the Rocky Mountains and that helps attract tourists from all over the world. Let's go about this the right way and put our money where our mouth is.
