# 1 Nikki Fried gets elected Florida Democratic Party Chair

# 2 Democrats OWN a 40-35 Registration Advantage in Duval County (By that vitue alone D's should be winning yet Republicans outvoted Republicans in Duval County in the Tuesday Jacksonville Mayoral Jungle Primary)

# 3 A Republican WINS a City Council Seat on Tuesday by 30 Points in a District that would have voted for President Biden during the 2020 Presidential Election by 11 Points.

# 4 Great Job Nikki Fried

# 5 Enough said!

I rest my case about the Florida Democratic Party!

The disparity in the 1st district city council race compared to the mayoral result in the same district was unusual; while I stand by what I said earlier for a good part of that result, but looking into it further it looks like there was a bit of a scandal which I missed with the Democratic candidate a few weeks ago where he lied about his resume, saying he'd gone to the local community college when he did not. That could also have contributed to the overly wide scope of the loss.
When do you give up on Florida? Democrats and Socialists like Nikki Fried will never win there.

New poll! UNF has a poll out this morning showing Republicans consolidating behind Davis.

Deegan (D): 48%
Davis (R):    47%

UNF PORL, 650 LV 3.8% MOE April 10-11

If the race is indeed consolidating and turnout is anything like as bad as it was for round 1 it now looks very possible for Davis to overcome his unpopularity and keep the largest GOP held city in Republican hands.
Deegan has a huge Problem. I am hearing Republicans are running Ads tying Deegan to Andrew Gillum and if that is true she is toast.

New poll out. Election day is tomorrow.

http://stpetepolls.org/files/StPetePolls_2023_Jacksonville_May14_J7CG9.pdf

If the election were held today for Jacksonville Mayor, and the candidates
were: Republican Daniel Davis and Democrat Donna Deegan, who would you
vote for?

Daniel Davis (R): 46.1%
Donna Deegan (D): 47.8%
Undecided / Won’t say: 6.1%

If the election were held today for Property Appraiser, and the candidates
were: Republican Jason Fischer and Democrat Joyce Morgan who would
you vote for?

Jason Fischer (R): 43.4%
Joyce Morgan (D): 50.8%
Undecided / Won’t say: 5.8%
Duval is a Democratic-trending County. Democrats have a 5-Point Registration Edge so they should win this going away.

Donna Deegan is a far-leftist "Defund the Police" type of Democrat anyways.

@Dereich,
Congrats on the Donna Deagan Win. As you have said and outlined: Candidate Quality matters and Daniel Davis was a terrible Candidate with a lot of baggage.

But get this: Davis' Chief Campaign Strategist was SUSIE WILES who now works for Trump. Explains why Governor DeSantis never campaigned with Daniel Davis.

WILES was fired by DeSantis because of too many leaks within DeSantis' Governors Office in 2019.

Florida Republicans are starting to blame former President DONALD J. TRUMP for the Jacksonville Mayoral loss.

They are saying if the Republican Candidate for Mayor Daniel Davis (in addition to being a bad Candidate) wanted Governor DeSantis help he would have never hired Jacksonville-based Strategist SUSAN WILES.

Wiles drew the ire of Governor DeSantis Political Orbit 5 Months into his 1st Term as Governor and was subsequently fired because of too many leaks with inside the Governors Office.

Wiles is now a Chief Strategist for the Trump 2024 Campaign and its "Save America SuperPac"!

@Dereich,
Ron DeSantis was right to fire SUSIE WILES in 2019!!! Best Decision he ever made. That Woman spells massive trouble for every individual she touches:
