Kenyatta is under fire for calling Pinsley racist for some reason.

Oh, weird. Because there does seem to be a reason but you conspicuously didn’t include it:

Quote
Two years ago, Pinsley found himself in hot water for racially tinged remarks he made during a Legislative Redistricting Commission meeting.

“Nor should you allow a map that allows one district that packs Allentown and Bethlehem into one super district. I hope Senator Costa will hold the line on that. We don’t need a ghetto,” said Pinsley, according to WFMZ-TV.

Anyway, the state party is already behind Kenyatta and Pinsley is an also-ran who will easily be dispatched in the primary. But hey, you know, blue no matter who, right?

I may well vote for DeFoor again

Oh. Weird.

I don’t really care about “blue no matter who”, nor have I for a few years now. Also don’t think one random comment some years ago about redistricting justifies Kenyatta making this primary campaign about race, especially because he’s likely to win anyway.

I didn’t vote for Ahmad because she lacked experience and wanted to make the campaign about national progressive agenda items. Defoor had experience and is moderate. I want an auditor with a background in the field who will just do their job of watching over finances. Basically no chance I vote for any other statewide R.

PA Dems - who are you voting for AG?

Since Kenyatta and Bizzarro pretty much have their primaries wrapped up, the AG race still seems open. Originally I was thinking Depasquale based on name rec, but I do like that Solomon is from Philly and he seems to be gaining some traction.

I'm supporting Joe Khan. I think Soloman and Bradford-Grey will split the vote in Philadelphia and Depasquale will be able to slip through and win the nomination. I wish he hadn't run though, going from Auditor General to running for Congress to going for a different row office feels opportunistic.

Speaks for itself on why the PA GOP bench is so horrific.

It's almost comical a state party is so dyfunctional and with such a horrible bench in an actual swing state (or at least one that is winnable for the GOP under the right circumstances).

Is there a Pennsylvania Josh Hawley? Or are they expecting the Missouri Senator to be like McCormick and just run as an out-of-stater pretending to be a Pennsylvanian?

I actually like all the AG candidates, as they all seem to be good on the issues.

I like Stollsteimer's actions and views concerning pollution and environmental justice.

This was pretty helpful - I got Depasquale, who I was already leaning towards. I like Solomon and Grey but I feel like they'll split the Philly vote.

I won't consider DePasquale only because he strikes me as an opportunist, but I got Bradford-Grey and the more I read about her, the more I like her. I was planning on voting for Khan but I'll have to think about that now. I may not really decide until I actually go to vote.

Excellent resource though. Spotlight does great work.

Yeah, that's the only thing that gives me pause. He's now jumped from Auditor to House to now AG. On one hand, I do believe he still has some statewide name rec which is good, but yeah, it does feel opportunistic at this point, and while I agree with him on many issues, does he have the credentials for AG? Also gives me pause. It's possible I won't decide until the last minute between the 3 lol.

I got Jack Stollteimer, who I've honestly never heard of. I'm completely undecided at this point, just strongly against DePasquale. I like Joe Khan and Bradford-Grey, but there really doesn't seem like there's much of a difference between the candidates, I'd be fine with pretty much any of them.

I voted for Joe Khan on my mail-in ballot. My top three choices were Stollsteimer, Khan, and Bradford-Grey, and ultimately chose Khan because I preferred his stances and efforts on environmental issues the most out of the three.

Every statewide Democrat, including Biden, should have Shapiro campaigning with them.

And from that Bullfinch poll-

Took the quiz and tied between Stollsmier and Khan. Imo it wasn't comprehensive enough.

Speaks for itself on why the PA GOP bench is so horrific.

That quiz said that Stollsteimer should get my vote, so I guess that's who I'm supporting at the moment.

I took both quizzes and got these results:

It felt a bit simplistic and I wish some questions had a neutral option, such as "do you wish they served in the state legislature."

Yeah, I'm gonna need Shapiro to just do constant direct to camera appeals this fall for Biden on the airwaves at this point lol

VBM returned: 103,262

These numbers are basically the same as what we've been seeing for the last 2 cycles. Reps continue to make no inroads with VBM at this point.

Am I reading this slide correctly: outside of unhinged Stacey Garrity, the GOP base won't even consider their only moderately sane statewide officeholder, Tim DeFoor?
Why, if not the colour of his skin?

Tim DeFoor's strength and weakness is both that he's a nobody. He's a blank slate to 98% of people. No one knows who he is or what he does. That's why I think it's imperative for Dems to start defining him early, because he is the most blank slate of all blank slates to the average person.
