In the first option, you would live in a castle, have a horse, a helmet, an armor, a sword, enjoy banquets, organize tournments.
In the second option, you would have a low wage job, perform boring work, but you would have access to modern medicine, sanitation and electricity.

Fast food workers have access to medicine, sanitation and electricity? Why are they complaining, then?

Sure. It would be better to be a noble in France than an employee in Kentucky Fried Chicken.

But it would be better to be an employee in Burger King than a noble in Castile.

Fast food worker in 2023, because you could not pay me any amount of money to exist in a time before modern plumbing.

Damn would I rather exploit a bunch of peasants or do a slightly different thing for work than I do now? Crazy choice

Well, sure, if you take a sh**t, it will have to be physically cleaned up rather than flushing down a pipe. But if you're a noble, you're not going to be the one who has to deal with that.

So, I am a duty-driven person and in that sense, "noble in Europe in 1250" might be a decent fit for me. Because class obligation was quite important in medieval European societies.
Ultimately this depends on how much I value modern conveniences and how much I have interest in personally playing politics.
This is a choice between a de facto middle manager job and a working-class service job. I probably would do better in the latter, but it might be fun trying out the former. Of course, the lack of modern conveniences would be a huge minus and discounting that is the only way the former actually gets a real chance of winning out here.

Teutonic era Prussia would have been fun, plus I'll keep the knowledge I have in this life right?

Interesting question.

I don't think people lived very long in the earlier period. I would have died by now if I was in the middle ages.

Therefore 2023.

Therefore 2023.

Life expectancy before the industrial revolution was 35 because the high child mortality pulled the average very up, but many people who survived until 5 could reach 50 or even 60 or even more.

Better to be first in a village than second in Rome.

Noble in Europe 1250, hands down.
