So far, demographics favor Democrats. This will be especially so as Democrats get much younger nominees for high public office who can appeal to Millennial sensibilities as older Democrats or Republicans alike cannot.

Democrats have taken on some conservative traits, like patriotism, personal restraint, and respect for tradition (if multiple traditions at once), without falling for crony capitalism.

This will mostly depend on the ability of certain nominees to successfully localize races in states where the partisan lean is not in the Democrats' favor. If races are successfully nationalized, the result will most likely reflect the partisan lean of the state and/or district; if the race is successfully localized, any result is possible.
