It was Anglican custom until 1980 - when the Alternative Service Book effectively replaced the Book of Common Prayer for most purposes - to have the wife promise to obey her husband at her marriage ceremony.

It's almost like Robinson is a plant and tries to lose with his outlandish statements.

And a lot of people said the same about Trump in 2016.

Not that I think Robinson is likely to win; The most likely outcome for North Carolina this election cylce is Stein winning the governorship and Trump taking the states electoral votes. Trump gets away with saying things that normally sink even down-ballot Republicans.

Right, but Kari Lake came so close to joining Trump as an exception to the rule…lol.

Someone on Twitter correctly pointed out that he wouldn't have been able to vote either in the time that women weren't able to vote. It's really delusional to want to go back to a time when you would have had no rights either. Does he think he would have been an exception?

I expect that Mark Robinson self identifies as white.

So, he’s trans-white?

Dolezal?Huh
She's called Diallo now. Get with the program.

Have they ever been seen in the same room? I'm starting to wonder if he's actually uncle ruckus transported to real life...

Lmao, how is that Republicans in cycle after cycle come up with terrible candidates in what used to be competitive races? Seems like vast parts of their base just lost it, and the bench of candidates is equally insane.

There are voters in North Carolina who were not born when this issue was settled. Why are we bringing it up again?

As an NC voter born in Robinson's fourth year not paying taxes, I don't care that much about it. There are things Robinson has said recently that worry me far more than his not paying taxes when I was a baby.

Robinson is up 2 points in a Cygnal Poll 40-38.

That's a LOT of undecided voters for both sides.  The right 3rd party candidate could have won this race.

Third parties don't really do well in the South.

You're also ignoring other recent polls with Stein ahead.

That's still just one poll. The average suggests that he is ahead.

Real:

I'm sure the Trumpers could find one minor thing that Tillis voted against for him to actually end up with only 3.5%
