I offer the following for consideration:

Quote
Charter of the Progressive Alliance

Mission Statement: Though they may differ in their origins, history, and culture, the Labor Party, Peace Party, and Democratic Alliance stand today united behind a common cause. We, the members of the Progressive Alliance, hold the truths to be self evident that democracy is sacred, that civil rights and the rights of minorities must be protected, that Atlasia must use its global power and influence wisely to promote peace and democracy, and that we must preserve the union and make it more perfect by extending opportunity and prosperity to all peoples and classes. We have found that to fight amongst each other only serves to hinder progress towards our shared goals, and selfishly harms the well being of our nation’s citizens. Therefore, from this point forward, we resolve to overcome our differences so that we may realize our truths. The Progressive Alliance shall stand firmly united in the face of all hardship and against all adversaries to secure the prosperity of all mankind, one election at a time.

Upon the ratification of this charter by a majority vote of their membership, the Labor, Peace, and Democratic Alliance parties agree to join the Progressive Alliance and uphold the following terms and conditions:

1. Each allied party shall cooperate with each other on matters of electoral strategy and governance. The alliance members shall act as a united front during elections to the greatest extent that is possible.

2. Each allied party agrees not to take any action which should undermine the operations of any other signatory.

3. Open channels of communication shall be maintained between the members of each allied party at all times.

4. Every two months, immediately preceding the federal general elections, a unified convention shall be held for the purpose of nominating candidates for office and considering changes to this charter, during which all members of allied parties shall be eligible to attend and vote, unless said eligibility has been stripped according to the provisions of this charter.

5. Each allied party agrees to automatically endorse all candidates nominated at the unified convention.

6. Citizens who are not members of any political party or who are members of a political party legally recognized as a minor party shall be permitted to affiliate themselves with the Progressive Alliance with the assent of the chairs of each allied party, and shall be granted the right to attend, vote in, and stand for nomination at the allied convention.

7. Additional political parties which are legally recognized as major parties shall be permitted to join this alliance with the approval of a majority vote of each allied party, and upon joining shall be subject to all of the provisions of this charter.

8. This charter shall not be construed as to interfere with the sovereign right of allied parties to determine their own bylaws and nominate their own candidates except in any manner which directly violates this charter.

9. Individuals found to be in violation of this charter by the chairs of all allied parties may be barred from attending, voting in, or standing for nomination at the allied convention.

I have declined my seat in the national Senate. As vice chair and acting chair of this party, I name Dwarven Dragon / Magmafeather to take up the seat in my place.

I second this. Should we vote on the proposal as a party? Assuming I have this power, I will open a vote on whether to agree to this proposal that lasts until noon Forum time on Friday July 19th.

By a vote of 8-0, the Peace Party ratifies the above charter. Talleyrand has been counted as a valid party member at the time of voting.
