Banning IQ Tests Act

Section I - Title
This bill may be cited as Banning IQ Tests Act

Section II - Banning IQ Tests Act
1. IQ tests taken or being taken or having taken place in a professional context will no longer be considered valid.
2. Schools and psychologists will be banned from taking IQ tests of students and people.
3. Lincoln does not believe that something complex as intelligence can be measured.
4. Intelligence will no longer be considered a valuable tool with regards to school placement
5. Given intellectual disability will no longer be seen as a disorder that exists, the need for an IQ test for measuring that will considered be obsolete.

Section III - Effective Date
This legislation shall take effect immediately.

This was a reference to an other act that I already changed and re-introduced, and it would simplify the act.

One of the reasons "why IQ tests are done" will no longer be needed too given if 11.6 passes there will be no distinction between "normal schools" and "special schools", while IQ is one of the things used to make the call for that decision. Line four also mentions this specifically again ("no longer valuable with regards to school placement"). Otherwise IQ tests are rarely used in a professional context anyways, only to determine school placement or whether there is an intellectual disability and I personally don't think the latter is particular useful too while scientifically very dated and more part of a series of social darwinist research studies.

In particular, IQ tests are also highly flawed for the following reasons.
- It does not measure intellectual potential, while
- It is something that can be falsified because an IQ test is something you can get better in if you do it multiple times
- IQ tests are highly suspectible to environmental conditions: noise, relation between the respondent and the questioner, mood of respondent, fitness of respondent, time of the day, intoxication etc.
- IQ tests only measure a certain amount of areas of intellect whereas the definition of intelligence and what applies under it and what is considered intellectual cannot be determined.
- The designers of IQ tests might have a cultural bias on the test itself, which especially comes to my mind to the verbal aspect of it, since it might ask questions like do you know these words? or ask general knowledge questions like "name the Andean countries".

It has also been used in the past to argue that other races are intellectually superior to others, while in practice this is largely because IQ tests are highly flawed, and secondly because IQ tests are more of an indicator for how good an educational system in a certain area is compared to others.

Professional IQ tests also require money for it to be taken, sometimes subsidized by the state, sometimes subsidized by the respondent. The money is better used in other areas while respondents should spend their money on something else too.

I personally don't think there is a place for IQ tests in a professional context. This act does not tackle online tests someone can take for fun, these would still be allowed to function. However, even free tests have a number of flaws mainly in agressive advertising/phishing attempts/malware and scamming and thus often have a catch too.
