You don't want the position, and there is another candidate. Why not drop out? Why are you running? Also, is a member of the GM team allowed to hold office? Wouldn't that be considered a conflict of interest?

I hope you don't see my questions as being rude, but I'm curious as to what your answers would be.

Yes one member of the GM Team is allowed to hold office.

I may not have wanted to run, but I definitely want to win. I'm competitive like that, and it has been pointed out to me that a member of the GM Team in an office of some kind is important.

Why is it important to have a member of the GM Team in elected office (genuinely asking)?

Having an inside look at policy being discussed in the Senate that you can bring back to the other members of the team is valuable (at least, that's my reasoning). How I would vote on said policy isn't (indeed, I'd probably be abstaining a lot to avoid interfering with ongoing storylines if I had won), but giving my teammates a look at how the Senate is deliberating, and occasionally voting on policy is important (indeed, if I won, my vote would likely have been three people, not one, as I likely would be voting for the entire team any time I voted on something.)

Right, I see. Although the Senate threads are open to all, even if no GM Team member was in office, I understand your position. Thanks for the response.

Hello,

In your December announcement, you said you are a free thinker. Do you have any conservative/moderate stances which you will accentuate in the campaign?

Thanks,
WM

I'm ending my campaign for Lincoln General Court. For some reason, Labor seems to explicitly hate me. Maybe it's posting elsewhere on the forum, or maybe it's because I left Labor, but they are going out of their way to stop me in ways they don't do with other candidates.

It's literally an IRV election: I assume you understand how that all works?

IRV exists precisely so that multiple parties/candidates with potentially overlapping interests can run without costing each other votes in the final rounds.

Guess your narrative is more fun, though...

10 vs 27 people means that NYE has no chance versus you.

You literally forced someone to run who has no interest in serving and preferred that candidate over someone who wants to run and wants to serve, for the sole reason of owning the Paxites.

10 versus 19 in the last election between the two parties (which excludes another 30 voters in what was a very close election), but no reason to let facts get in the way of yet another one of your convenient narratives!

Also, wasn't this you just a few hours ago saying this about Solid's run?

He wants to run and he's "disgusting and annoying" for it...or he doesn't want to run.

Roll Eyes

Can you ever make up your mind on anything?

He obviously meant he doesn't agree with Solid's running just because the party wants him to and the implication is that he must want to run deep down if he's willing to follow orders to run, but if it's more fun to use your narrative, please carry on.

I endorse NYE. Write him in if you have to, folks.

I think it's a shame you're leaving the Senate but I endorse your campaign for LGC.
