I'm not observing the first day of winter until the solstice, even if in North Carolina, winter is just a week and a half when you least want it (so, like, late January).

Appropriately enough it's snowing pretty heavily as I type this.

Easily my least favorite season.

What I dislike the most is not even temperature, but that it's dark outside at 5 pm. already. It's dark when you leave in the morning, and it's dark when you come home from the office (or finish work at home).

It's dark well before 5 in most places. That's why people eat dinner before 5pm (at home, alone) in Norway, lol.

The absolute best season. Especially since I've been doing a lot more gig work on the side to make some extra spending money before the Holidays and it's sooo much nicer to work when Texas isn't a 100 degree hellscape.

Anybody on here who says that winter is the best season and/or they actually enjoy the cold/snow isn't allowed to come to my birthday party (which is on New Year's Eve, btw).

But it's only the beginning of the fake winter aka. the meteorological one;
the genuine winter, i.e. the astronomical one, doesn't start before December 21 at 11:47 pm.

The start of it is actually very upbeat and fun - the joyful Christmas cheer season - whereas the further you get into it (Late Jan, especially Feb) it can become very depressing, and then by April you're ready for the warmth to come back.

There are things I miss about Tahoe. Endlessly shoveling snow is not one of them.

Lol, true.  I got stuck in a berm near the top of Kingsbury Grade for four hours with almost no cellphone service on Thursday evening.  That was a lot of fun.

Saw my first snow drifting down in Yerevan about an hour ago. I sadly don't think it'll be here to last.

It is weird I know, but I enjoy snow shoveling. But it is psychological. More snow shoveling I do, the better the water supply outlook is
