He should have been defeated last time.  The guy has done a lousy job as Senator and was even worse in the cabinet.

You're right that McCollum was an excellent Representative and would have made a good Senator.

I doubt the Republicans would choose a former "trial lawyer" for attorney general.

Uh, I think that Yates was thinking of Mel "Amnesty" Martinez (who was a trial lawyer) whereas HardRCafe is referring to Bill McCollum, who was elected Attorney General of Florida.
