Congress will probably force a deal. But I trust President Biden to work for a better deal in the next few months. Congress steping in is a stop gate to stop a crippling blow to our economy.

I strongly support unions and labor. But this is serious

Republicans will side with anyone they have to in order to hurt Democrats and ensure a disaster happens on their watch. It's all cynicism. If this potential strike was happening under Trump, these same Republicans would be calling for the return of the Pinkertons.
How does calling for sick leave hurt Democrats? I’m assuming it ultimately won’t pass and they want unions to be mad at democrats for forcing a deal without sick leave?

The senate will have three votes

-forcing the deal
-adding paid leave to the deal
-extending negotiations for 60 days

All three votes require 60 votes

The paid leave vote requires the first vote, on the deal, to pass.

I’m confused on the third vote.
