South Park is easily better and is the only one of the "adult cartoons" that has remained consistently relevant and funny in recent years.

They're in the top three, right beside King of the Hill. It's a very difficult call.

Had it not been for the current season, I would've said South Park without a doubt. Family Guy deserves credit for just showing it can be funny without irrelevant cutaways or gags. It also deserves self-awareness points in acknowledging that it's overstayed its welcome.

Both have really good seasons and really crappy seasons.

But I suppose South Park ekes it out for having better recent seasons generally. I don't know if Family Guy hired new writing staff but I hope they stay on for a while, or they finally evolve from the self-parody.

South Park, but the early seasons of family guy do hold up in terms of character development and essence, but with a worse plot and animation style.

Family guy has better musical numbers however.

I voted South Park. They were damn near flawless throughout the 2000s. I also enjoyed the movie + The Stick of Truth & Fractured but Whole games. Though early Family Guy stands up much better than early South Park.

All that being said, I haven't found both shows funny in over ten years. Luckily, American Dad & Bob's Burgers have done a good job filling the void.

Classic South Park (1997-2009 IMO) is better than Family Guy. FG hasn't had the same drop in quality as SP though. American Dad is better than both.
