Occasionally if I am pissed off at someone I have prank app to pull a prank call on them.

When I was a kid, NOBODY had caller ID so it was, more or less, "safe" to make prank calls....so we did.  I've called random numbers, we looked up funny names in the phone book, jerky teachers.  Lots of fun.  Then the phone company started to advertise features that made prank calls a lot less safe, like *69 (auto calls back the last number to call you) and then caller ID took it all away.  It's hard to prank a teacher when your dad's full name shows up on her phone when you call.

(to be fair, we didn't spend a lot of time doing this.  Like years would go by without doing it.)


Today's kids have to do things like act racist in online games or be mean to celebrities on social media to get their "stirring the pot" fix in.

I did with relative frequency as a kid in middle school. I think the last time I ever did was while drunk as a freshman in college.

No but when I'm in a calmer mood, I like to prank some of the vehicle warranty/senior healthcare scam calls I get. The last conversation of note went something like this:

"Hello, this is Melanie with something something Senior Scamcare. How are you doing?"
"Well, I just finished jacking off, so pretty good."
"...Uh, okay. So how old are you?"
"I'm 72."
"Do you have power of attorney or do you make your own decisions?"
"I make all my own decisions."
"Okay, great. I'll redirect you to our [some "higher-up" in the scam org]"
-three seconds later-
"Hi, this is Michael! How are you doing today?"
"Pretty good, how are you?"
"Good! May I ask how old you are, sir?"
"I'm 72!"
"72? Well that's great! (proceeds to sound surprised that I'm 72 but still sound young and healthy)"
"Yeah! Hey Michael, I hope you don't mind if I masturbate to our conversation!"
"...What?"
"I said I hope you don't mind if I masturbate during this conversation!"

Keeping a serious tone was pretty hard for the last two "lines." Two minutes of my life I'll never get back, but worth it. Other times I just directly tell them they should be in jail for taking advantage of seniors (because they should be). Usually when it's out of area, I don't bother at all.

The Cleo ones were funny... people would say "Ms Cleo is in jail".

Now I have automated prank calls with adapt to what people respond. Amazing how technology has improved! Even on prank calls

The main type of prankery I engaged in as a stupid teenager was making BS edits to various Wikipedia pages. Thanks to the 'History' tabs a lot of them can still be seen. In fact some of them on the more obscure pages might not have even been reverted.
