I guess I'd tentatively go for Porter? Schiff isn't like offensive but seems kinda cringe and Lee is old.

We need more consumer advocates in the Senate.

Just a really disgusting exploitation of sexism here. Never underestimate the Dem establishment's ability to simp for the most mediocre politicians imaginable.

Reminds me of the general Democratic reaction to Neera getting shot down, or Sinema saying sexism was why she got criticized for Fortnite dancing on the poor.

Remember the time she endorsed Joe Kennedy's primary challenge against Ed Markey because Markey was palling around with AOC?

Very thankful that Jeffries is leader now. He clearly has his own beliefs but he at least is willing to put them aside for party unity.

It's not that simple. Pelosi isn't a Sacramento politician and has no strong connections to California politics. She's backing Schiff because of her House connections, the same reason she was for Joe Kennedy.

I doubt that this is comparable to Kennedy, given her lack of support for candidates like Conor Lamb or Colleen Hanabusa in their contested primaries. The only other example of Pelosi intervening in any other Senate primary is Ben Ray Lujan - a strong ally in Pelosi's personal inner circle.

I think you mostly have it right, but it's very clear in retrospect that she endorsed Kennedy because Markey was getting too close to the Squad.
