Whitmer is also uninterested. Gilchrist is considering.

I like Pete. Always have. But if I’m being honest this is probably for the best.

Slotkin and Stevens start out as the clear the frontrunners here on the Dem side. LG Gilchrist is also a possibility as I think Nessel goes for governor in 2026 and this would be a prime opportunity for him to advance. Buttigieg is a wild card and I'm 99% certain that Whitmer remains governor in order to position herself for the 2028 Presidential race.

James and Meijer are the obvious names on the GOP side. I'm guessing James goes for it a third time and while Meijer would be the stronger GE candidate, there's the question of whether he could get through a primary for obvious reasons.

What house district is Mallory in? Figured she would probably do that before she would jump in statewide.

She lives in Royal Oak in MI-11.

If Gilchrist runs, he is obligated to fight John Fetterman for dominance as king of the giants.

Basically, as long as it's not Haley Stevens, who manages to be anti-Semitic while simping for Netanyahu, we're good.

Slotkin is the best choice IMO

As much as I like Pete, I really don't think he would do well in this race. I feel pretty confident Meijer would beat him. Now, I also like Meijer and don't oppose him in a vacuum, but Michigan can't give a Senate seat to the Republicans. That would be pretty disastrous. So hoping a really good candidate raises to the top here.
Meijer couldn't win a primary in his own district, running against a badly underfunded nutcase.

Slotkin's seat is weaker though. Stevens would be stronger, or maybe Nessel or Benson.

Eh, I mean it's a tossup district but in a presidential year, I'm sure it'll likely vote close to how it does Prez.

She’s one of the strongest I’ll give her that, but that house seat is pretty vulnerable, given that she only won it by about 5 points last year.

Debbie "Queen Levin" Stabenow was always weaker than a generic D, so this is good news for Democrats' prospects of holding this seat. I’d be very surprised if this one flipped before PA or WI — probably the safest of the vulnerable Democratic-held seats.

I’d be fine with Slotkin; Gilchrist would also be a good option. Stevens is far too close to AIPAC for my liking atp. On the R side, I mean, James is obviously better than Dixon or whoever, but he’s a 3x retread atp, come on. Meijer would be better but he’s DOA in a primary; only really scared of Huizenga.

McMorrow will be a force in national politics eventually, but I doubt she’d jump straight in to this seat.

No way Whitmer ditches being god-empress of a crucial swing state for the US Senate, she already declined anyway. MI-07 is very winnable even without Slotkin and honestly there’s enough low hanging fruit elsewhere that it’s not necessarily essential for a Democratic majority either

You honestly believe a poll 2 yrs before Eday that shows Casey losing

The only way if we lose a 303 State is if PPP or a Marist poll shows us losing and Inside Advantage had Oz winning by Marist had Fetterman ahead but we lost OH because Marist had Ryan down 1

Not much of a fan of Slotkin running. MI Dems could do better, and I don't like how her House seat would become open.

The way politics works nowadays is if you can work the media, you can jump the line. I see no reason why Mallory McMorrow wouldn't consider running for this seat.

But... after her massive overperformance and constant good press, I don't think anybody else could beat Jocelyn Benson. If she wants it, she'll get it.

One thing is for sure though, it will be a slightly-progressive, slightly-moderate white gurl from the suburbs no matter who it is.

Under no circumstances. We do not need an AIPAC stooge.
