Based on vibes and my gut I feel Huizenga would be republicans best chance to flip this seat as he can potentially appeal to suburbanites and the nutjobs (republicans)

He has no appeal to suburbanites.

I'd much rather see Meijer win but I know that's unrealistic. Huizenga would be a good candidate too. Certainly better than someone like Perry Johnson or Tudor Dixon.

In a Prez race RS chances of winning this seat is the same as D's winning TX or FL, that's why Stabenow retired to give D's a better chance

Greg Peters was endangered in 2020 and he pulled out a narrow win WI, MI and PA it's not 2016 anymore didn't WI Gov and NV, AZ PA 22 teach RS anything, blks and Latinos are understated especially in blue states, and about the blue wall when most RS said Fetterman and Evers were doomed and Garlin GILCHRIST said he may enter in 24

There are a lot of Blks that can swing a close race in DTW when Biden campaign we won the state legislature it's not gonna flip in 24

That's why you as a D can discount the ABC poll that has Trump up 3 they had RS up 49/45 on the GCB before Eday 22 why because undercut blk and Latinos

Lol to all the people who believe richboy free trader can win in Michigan in all places.
Being anti-Trump doesn't necessarily mean electable, especially when it comes to being a traditional Republican in a place where traditional Republicans don't do well (see:

Reminder that Huizenga's house seat is only Trump +4 and I'm pretty sure Benson won it in the SoS election (other Dems might have come within a point or two as well). It would be a heavy dem target if Huizenga vacated that for a senate run. He's a titan in West Michigan.

Huizenga only won by 11-12 points against a sacrificial lamb. Even with him this seat is worth looking into for Democrats.

It's a Neutral Environment not R Lean yr as of now in that scenario MI won't go R and we won MI state legislature, RS forget about, but things can change by 2024 to a blue wave, it was a neutral yr in 22 too RS were the only ones calling it red wave because the H but they only won 220 not 230 seats because the S and Gov went neutral

RS need to stop calling it red wave because a Trump plus 3 lead isn't gonna hold up with his scandal and blks and Latinos and females voting D the same ABC poll had RS plus 4 near Eday 22 that's how you know it's a neutral not red leaning yr

Any idea on if she'd be a strong candidate? Of course, campaigns matter too, but I think this one starts at Lean D.

State Board of Ed member Nikki Snyder is running for senate.

She’s hardly a top-tier candidate and I don’t expect her to be the nominee.

Only after they banned everyone else from running, they won't be able to do the same trick twice.

Dixon only took off after the previous frontrunners were disqualified.

They didn’t “ban” them, all the other candidates failed to meet the ballot requirements, the bare minimum is collecting signatures and they failed to do that.

Yeah, something makes me think this seat isn't terribly likely to flip.

I don’t know if it’s been said but Mallory McMorrow would be a fantastic candidate for this seat. Google her if you don’t know her. She’s very charismatic and a great messenger, would be a good younger face for the Democratic Party in the Rust Belt.

I like her, but I think she'd have a difficult time defeating more prominent figures in the primary. Namely Slotkin and potentially Benson.

I wish Haley Stevens were running in the senate primary (I don't really want her to win the nomination), simply so her seat would open up and Mallory McMorrow could run for congress.

I do think McMorrow makes a statewide run in 2026.

I'm calling it right now. The GOP will select the worst possible candidate they can, they'll lose by 5 or more points, whine about losing and not get the message on what type of candidates to run.

The GOP hasn’t lost any election in 2016, everytime their candidates loose it’s cause democrats stole the election through fraud, so why would they change if they’re winning?

The GOP will probably nominate a bad candidate but Trump of all people only lost here by 3 points, and contrary to popular belief, he was talking about rigged elections during the 2020 campaign, claiming it’d be rigged if he lost. Democrats are making a massive mistake underestimating all these new Trump followers.

No one is making a mistake underestimating all the Trump followers we just won the state legislature in MI and the H in PA the RS in a Prez yr aren't winning MI, WI or PA and we have Biden leading Trump and DeSantis by 4 and Trump and his inner circle are about to get indicted in GA that's what makes Biden leads so important that's why your R nut map was wrong because indictments are coming
