Tax Inclusive Pricing (TIP) Act

Prices for goods and services shall have the total cost to the consumer (taxes/fees/levies/duties) included on the price prominently displayed/advertised.
Businesses may display their pretax price as long as the TIP is clearly marked and the more prominent of the prices.
Penalties for non-compliance will be fall under the existing consumer law for fraud, false advertising and relevant consumer protection laws.
  
This shall come into effect at the start of the new fiscal year.

Thanks to Citizen Sponsor Muaddib for providing text here. This legislation, versions of which have already been enacted in other regions, bans false advertising in the form of hiding taxes until one arrives at a register and may feel pressure to proceed with the transaction. It will require businesses to list prices with all taxes included, so that consumer choice, not business profit, is the outcome.

I am curious at what your rationale for opposing what most would consider common sense legislation.

Also as an aside I'd like to point out this was my first bill in Atlasia.
