Nothing will probably top this as the funniest political moment of 2024:

Was Lake's account hacked or is this pure irony?

To quote McCain: “My entire take on this situation is just that the internal polling for Kari Lake’s campaign must be just staggeringly awful and scary to them when it comes to Independents and McCain Republicans not voting for her.”

I think the answer is just that Lake has no self-awareness.

That was the first time I ever liked something Meghan McCain said.

Another politician whose departure I won't shed any tears for, even if she may be ideologically aligned with me on certain issues.

As someone whose political views are rather aligned with hers, I commend her ability to make me hate her nontheless.

Yeah Kari Lake needs Trump to decisively win AZ at this point if she wants to win her race.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

TRANSLATION: "After my cute little attempt to remain on the November ballot by becoming an "independent", my fundraising and polling cratered, so I'm making the decision to retire from the Senate and become a lobbyist for Wall Street, specifically most likely the pay day lending industry."

Kyrsten Sinema announces she is retiring from the Senate

Quote
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, an Arizona independent, announced Tuesday she will retire at the end of her term this year, blaming growing partisanship and mudslinging in Washington for driving her decision to not run for reelection.

“I believe in my approach, but it’s not what America wants right now,” Sinema said, in a video announcing her decision.

Sinema has long been a high-profile and influential figure in the Senate, frequently working to broker compromise between Democrats and Republicans.

While I expect Sinema to just retire from politics and get some cushy private sector/lobbying job, I also wouldn’t at all be surprised if this No Labels ticket happens.

I would be because there’s no way it’s going to be two Democrats.

Yeah, but Sinema technically isn’t a Democrat anymore. She’s an Independent! But I get your point, No Labels probably would want a Republican (or Republican leaning independent) on the ticket.
