This was a tied district in 2020 Pres, so Slotkin could definitely go down. One would expect Whitmer to run ahead given she's from Lansing, but Slotkin is a strong candidate herself. So perhaps them even being in a tie is a sign of the worsening environment for Democrats, given that this a district that should be Lean R based on fundamentals.

Mitchell was also more bearish on Whitmer statewide, only having her 2 compared to 5-9 like others.

If this was a red wave year though, this wouldn't be a tie race, one would think.
