BRTD is exactly the kind of guy you're looking for, although left-wing Christianity is pretty popular in Latin America IIRC.

Hi. Smiley Seems to be a D-MN thing here haha.

The other most notable one here is Scott.

What type/denomination are you btw? I'm non-denominational as is my church, Scott is Episcopalian.

Non-denominational as well, with extremely loosely Protestant sensibilities. I tried churches (I do respect what the Episcopalians have going for them), but ultimately felt most content with private worship. I consider myself to be pretty devout, but it's a very personal thing for me, outside of the ways my faith colors my political beliefs.

I mean, I talk about it, I just don't gather in person about it. That sounds like crowds. Tongue

Yeah that's me

1. I like supporting the poor
2. Corporations pursue whatever's profitable (even if it is wrong), making Christianity not particularly compatible with capitalism

I'm a left-wing Christian as well. It's a perspective pretty commonly discussed on our Religion & Philosophy board, which I moderate. Welcome to the forum!

NGL, I think my version of Christianity is actually the closest to BRTD's of anyone on the Forum (although our aesthetics and politics are very different, ofc)

Is your version of Christianity heavily influenced by emotional hardcore music of the mid-to-late 90s?

This song legitimately counts as a hymn and I won't hear it otherwise.

I grew up left wing and Christian. Then again I was born and bred and the Aussie version of Washington DC. Christianity is neither left nor right. It's pro truth, justice, redemption and forgiveness. Something sadly lacking on both sides of the political aisle.

It's increasingly harder to speak the truth in love to someone who has an immediate bias or even hatred against oneself and what ever you say. Especially when their categorization of what you're saying is completely uncharitable, reductionist or straw manned. I enjoy a good stir and a good laugh, so maybe I've cost myself a sincere exchange of ideas outside of an audio convo (either on a voice chat or in person). People don't see things how things are, people see things how they (the individual/s) are.

I would not consider myself "leftwing" now tho
