i also remember hearing bill bradley's name being tossed around a lot.

to the best of my recollection, kerrey seemed to be the most likely choice.

I remember everybody talking about how weird it was to have the prez and the VP from neighboring states. I remember thinking it was cool that on the bridge over the Mississippi River here in Memphis, one side said welcome to Arkansas home of President Clinton and the other side said welcome to Tennessee home of Vice-President Gore.
