In other news, looks like Maryland and Missouri have voted for legal weed, while the Dakotas and Arkansas have voted against.

I thought South Dakota just did vote to legalize it a couple years ago though???

The Needle is up to 85% odds for Republican control of the House, but the margin is staying steady at 226-209.

One thing I've wondered over the past few months is whether changes in party coalitions (where high-propensity voters become more Democratic, and lower-propensity voters become more Republican) will lead to a reversal of conventional presidential and midterm dynamics - making Republicans favored in presidential years and Democrats favored in midterms.
I have thought of the same thing.

Midterm waves were only a thing since 1994.
Before 1994 Democrats always won Congress no matter what because of their party coalition.

So we should compare Midterms to previous Midterms.
But still outside of Florida and New York City, Republicans have made very little progress on 2018.

Thinking about all of the internet abuse the right committed against him and Gisele makes this victory so much sweeter Smiley

The Alaska call is for A Republican. It is not indicating any edge for Tshibaka or Murkowski.

ABC PROJECTS FETTERMAN WINS!!!

First Democratic Senate pickup of the night!

Aight, I'm going to bed. I've seen enough.

> Boebert is down three points with over 80% reporting
> Warnock leads Walker and will likely win the runoff
> Masto leads by over 10 points with 40% reporting
> Most outlets calling PA for Fetterman
> House control not determined by midnight
> Multiple Dem pickups in House races against insane extremists
> Evers likely winning
> House control might come down to four random Orange County districts
> At this rate, Alaska will likely deliver for the Dems again

This is a fat embarrassment for the Republicans. Maybe someday they will realize that Trump is an albatross around their party's neck. But I'm fine with them continuing to lose as they embrace dictatorship and religious fundamentalism.

There have been four major election cycles in the Trump era, and the GOP has only won one of them. Are you tired of winning yet?

Okay y'all, I think I'm heading off to bed (thank goodness I have off tomorrow).

Been a pleasure following the results with you all and I can't wait to hop on tomorrow to keep the party going.  For me personally there's been quite a few disappointments, but also some successes.  And thank you all for putting up with my county-by-county updates that I wasn't planning on doing.  But hey, was a good way to refresh my PA geography Tongue

Night all! To my US peeps, make sure y'all get some sleep yourselves.  Talk to you later this morning!
Good night! Sleep tight. You deserve it! Btw, you might run into Oz at a Wegmans.

Tweet is old news. Somewhere earlier in this thread, FRISCH WAS PROJECTED AS THE WINNER (with north of 90% of the vote in)!!!! Yes, this despite the district being reddened up, despite it voting for Trump by like 7 or 8 points in 2020.

I'm not seeing that anywhere?

Okay, correction: it wasn't *exactly* a projection, but it was pretty damn close to it!:

A grifter, they called him:

YES YES YES YES.
Boebart going down in a SHORED-UP, Trump+7 or Trump+8 seat in a Biden midterm? It's a dream come true!!

And I'll take it. Looks very unlikely Boebart will recover the lead now.

Turns out when you tell 81 million people their votes didn't count, they get mad!

Who would have thought?!

Random observation: Beasley overperformed in western North Carolina compared to eastern, which was also the case with Joe Biden in 2020. Seems like "Greater Asheville" is kind of becoming a bright spot for Democrats in the area.

Now we all get to experience the joy of waiting for California mail ballots to be processed

It should be noted that California has automatic mail ballots for everyone.

And you don't have to " mail " them in.

I dropped my ballot off last night at one of the county provided boxes near the local library.

Geez Walker only won Fayette County by 2.5. It’s def the next domino to fall in Atlanta. Trump won by 7.

This is the most optimistic and proud of election results democrats should be since 08 Obama. What a showing across the board for them compared to expectations (minus Florida of course but oh well).

I'm still just elated at Fetterman's win. WOW. Just positively stunned!

The most egregious candidate of the entire cycle gets to go back to their state where they ACTUALLY live. Pennsylvania is NOT for sale!

This election actually feels a lot like 2020, right down to Florida/Miami-Dade being a massive disappointment but hope being kept alive elsewhere.

It also feels a bit like 2004 with an old school coalition carrying Fetterman to victory.

Hot take: Fetterman would not have won if he skipped the debate.
