If you really wanted honest answers, you should've made this a poll.

No, though I do find it hilarious that our dedication to those with disabilities leads us to fine small businesses for having wheelchair ramps that are 1° too steep, yet we continue to do nothing about a national transportation system that is fundamentally hostile to the disabled in every conceivable way.

Hmm... Like paralyzed people? No, those who are disabled meaning missing a limb. No. Mentally disabled people? Not generally no.

No.  In my private consulting work I served one of the country's largest organizations that help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Amazing group.

Plus I have a disability myself.

No, and I've been there myself when my OCD was at its worst.

Not at all. Members of my family suffer from a range of physical and mental disabilities. Casual cruelty towards the disabled makes me seethe with anger and sorrow, to almost the point of tears even just thinking about it.

Matthew 25:40 - ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

More the opposite. If I recognize someone has a disability then maybe I won't judge them quite as harshly for when they do stupid sh**t, and recognize they are trying to deal with a challenging condition. Or if they are managing to persevere and do worthwhile stuff in spite of their condition I find that admirable.

If that is true, than how come virtually everyone who has given me sh**t for my mild disability been a conservative and/or a Republican?

How does your anecdotal evidence about other completely unrelated people mean that Shua wasn't being truthful about their opinion on people with disabilities?

I reread my post. My apologizes, not my intention to imply Shua was not being truthful. I believe him.

But my point still stands:

Most Republicans do not look down on people who disabilities, but almost everyone who does is a Republican.
