Who knows.

Nothing on this forum works because nothing is organized.

One thing is clear, though.  Once he does take office, we'll all just be sitting here for months doing nothing waiting on the next election.  The election process really ought to be sped up a bit; there's nothing to do in the meantime but bitch and moan about stupid stuff like too many poll threads.

According to the Constitution, he should take office this weekend.

I was also under the impression that it was this weekend. Smiley

Migrendel should then set up an oath thread for Gus and Supersoulty and Gustaf should make an inauguration speech.

Agreed.  Getting in touch with Migrendel can be difficult however.  Hopefully he'll see this thread before the end of the weekend.

Gustaf and Supersoulty are now officially past due for the constitutional time to be sworn in:

Clause 1. The President-Elect assumes his or her duties as President the first weekend of the month following the general election. The President must be sworn in between noon Eastern on Friday and noon Eastern Time the Sunday ensuing. The Vice President and the other civil officers must also be sworn in on the same day. The Vice President shall be sworn in first, followed by the President who shall then be followed by the other civil officers.

We urgently need Gustaf to take office, and fill his cabinet.  We are in need of a Secretary of Forum Affairs to set up a special election for the now vacant senate seat in district 3.

Yes we know, Migrendel is the one who is supposed to swear them in though as he is the Chief Justice.

That is the problem.

He has posted to the forum today, but not to fantasy elections.

I don't see that the constitution requires it to be the chief justice.  Could another supreme court justice do it, if need be?

True, they could.

It would have to be KEmperor as MAS117 is away at the moment.

I guess it falls to me then.  I'll start a swearing in thread shortly.

Attention President Gustaf!

Now that you have taken office, will you please get your cabinet in place.  You may have noticed that we had a senator resign on Sunday, and two candidates have come forward for the vacant seat.  We the candidates, as well as the voters, are unclear on when the special election will be held.  We need a Secretary of Forum Affairs to set up and administer a special election, which the constitution indicates should take place within a week of the vacancy occuring.

Unless you would like to take charge of setting up and administering the election yourself, which I would have no objection to.  Smiley

Thank you,
Fritz

District 3 Special Election looks like a real tossup. 1 vote could really make all the difference.

If Fritz can win this, the Democratic Party could go on rebound, if not our Atlas Parties and the GOP will remain dominant.
