Let's say that instead of weak challenge by Weld and Walsh,  Ted Cruz challenges Trump in 2020 for whatever reason . What are state margins? My guess is more than H.W 1992 support in Primaries for Trump but less than IRL 2020 republican primaries....
What if it is Romney or Rubio who is challenger?

Romney would be the strongest challenger. The other two wouldn't be taken seriously, as they're ideologically closer to Trump.
