Jefferson.  Both Jefferson and Adams did do things that were unconstitutional, but doubling our territory definitely beats the Alien and Sedition Acts.

Not sure about the others, but in a 2 way Jefferson-Adams race, I'd definitely vote Jefferson.

Thomas Jefferson did many stupid things during his presidency, especially as far as the Embargo and Non-Intercourse Acts were concerned. Having said that, Jefferson was more a man for smaller government than was Adams. He has my vote.

Adams.  Most of his first term mistakes were due to his placing too much trust in Hamilton, a flaw that I doubt would have been repeated in a second Adams term.
