What the hell is the point of this "exploratory committee" crap? Theoretically, it's a way for you to fundraise without having made a final decision, but I think we all think they're going to officially run, and beyond that, the media is going to interpret these committees as officially running.

Do either of these people have no fear how much crap they'll get in the media by forming a committee and not running, or do they just want media attention twice for annoucing instead of once?

Ask all of the GOP candidates (besides Brownback) the same question.

It confuses me quite a bit but Naso was right (....did I say that?) when he said that forming an exploratory committee and then announcing gives you two big news stories opposed to one.
