Forbes was the Working Families candidate in 2000, he lost the Democratic primary to some farleft nutjob (with the result that a farright nutjob got in and was defeated by a Democrat two years later.) I think he also never formally ceased caucussing with the Republicans.

Hubbard (KY) (75-93, defeated by Barlow(D), redistricting?)

If I remember correctly, this was not because of a redistricting, but because of a jailing.

Hubbard (KY) (75-93, defeated by Barlow(D), redistricting?)

If I remember correctly, this was not because of a redistricting, but because of a jailing.
Kentucky lost a seat in 1992, so there would have been a change in the district.  Other possible issues were that Hubbard's wife was simultaneously running for the House from another district, which may have struck some voters as arrogant.

It is true that Hubbard was implicated in the House banking scandal and later went to prison, but that happened in 1993 after he had been defeated.  The other 3 representatives who went to prison, left office during their terms.  One was expelled, and 2 resigned.

As a curiousity, both Barlow and Hubbard unsuccessfully, sought election in 2006.  Barlow for House, and Hubbard for the Kentucky Senate.

As a curiousity, Bill Clinton ran against Hammerschmidt  in the NW Arkansas district and narrowly lost - otherwise he would have a member of the Watergate class.

I know that John Conyers is the sole survivor of the 1964 freshmen, not sure about 66.

Senate: 11 freshmen in 1994; 3 remain in Senate.

House: 69 freshmen in 1994; 14 remain in House; 8 are now in the Senate; 1 is now a governor, 1 will be a Cabinet member in the Obama administration.

The class of 94 is on its way out.

It'd be interesting to find the freshman class that got the most promotions to governorships and senators

I did count that recently too. Although I got 16 (plus 7 D's) - maybe because I counted people first elected in speshs under their first general election. I actually thought of figuring out how many of them got in by beating incumbents, but forgot.

There's a lot more of the Class of 92 left, anyhow.

How about the class of 1966? or 1964? Is anyone left?
66 no, 64 yes - John Conyers, second longest serving member of the House. There's at least one member (my count) left from every Class since 68 (David Obey), at least 3 since 74.
