Sadly, this GREAT ACT was not brought to the floor by our last PPT. Bugs are a nutritious food which provide more protein in a more efficient and climate friendly way than cattle.

I would be willing to support a very small amount for this, or a resolution that encourages bug eating. I have eaten bugs and they aren't bad. I haven't had the opportunity to do so that much but it is an interesting enterprise. However, in general, I think subsidies for this should be a regional endeavor.

So I take it the objective here is to spur a new sector in agriculture?

Are there any other benefits/drawbacks such as potential health or environmental concerns that may occur as a result of such harvesting?

The first amount that popped into my head was $10,000 but I'm open to supporting a larger amount.

I would still like a response here.

Generally this is vaguely modeled after IRL farm subsides to spur a new sector of agriculture. A health concern would be possibly ingesting some insecticides.

What about potential for destruction of natural plant and bug ecosystems if a particular bug is brought into an area that it doesn't normally exist in, to be raised on a mass scale?

Few crickets in the Atlasia don’t also live in other areas of Atlasia. Crickets are one of the less destructive bugs if an overseas bug gets into Atlasia.
