Balmoral is her summer home, her main residence is Windsor.

Asquith in 1908 had to go to Biarritz in France to see Edward VII.

Mr Blobby turned up on The Big Breakfast the other day, for maximum 90s throwback.

Coffey is Health Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister as expected.

Thérèse Coffey; more than one writer is going to forget the accents, that's for sure. When was the last time we had a Cabinet minister with accents in their name?

The statement, particularly the 'concerned about her health' bit, sounds very similar to what is part of the official procedure when it's about to happen. When George VI was about to go, for example, something like that was said. It's also worth noting perhaps that the Palace doesn't usually speak in such tones regarding the health of the Queen or any senior Royals, as I think has been said on here.

That was George V, I believe. George VI, while in very bad health, died in his sleep at Sandringham, with Elizabeth and Philip in Kenya at the time.

I'm a church bell ringer and the death of the monarch is the only time we would ring fully muffled.

New Royal Cypher revealed

This is what will appear on all the police cap badges, government documents, new post boxes etc. Notably it's a reversion to the 1901-1953 Tudor Crown - Elizabeth's used St Edward's Crown.

Scene: Truss shakes hands with Queen.

Scratch

'Yup. That's me. You might be wondering how I got here...'

*"Baba O'Riley" starts playing*

To me that's the theme tune to CSI:NY...

The very funny thing we forget is that they’ve lost 5 MPs through by elections and defections already- they’re not going to want to lose more before they’ve done planning reform…

Nine including those who've lost the whip. Started with a majority of 87, now 69.

Yes, but a competent PM could slow the spread of the poison just enough to make the Tories' path back to power easier. There is a difference between 250 seats at a general and 300.

Those who are actually in power should have the dignity to seize it formally by installing an actual PM instead of using Truss as a meat puppet. This reeks of cowardice and the desire to avoid responsibility for enabling this maniac. Truss should have the courage to resign for her own good instead of holding onto a figurehead role that's nothing more than a poisoned chalice, a scarlet letter.

It's very peculiar. I can't think of a more humiliating position for a politician to be in - she's literally being treated as some kid playacting a big-girl job while the grown ups do the real work! And worse, this isn't some shadowy puppet master, but something literally everybody knows. If I was Truss, I would seriously consider spitefully calling a general to at least take out Hunt and Mordaunt along with everybody else.

One wonders what the King would make of a move like that. The Palace generally does not like to be involved in internal party matters.

Remember Chamberlain fell after a slashed majority in an adjournment motion treated as a confidence vote.

That's ITV, not C4...

Also, the last time we had three administrations in one year was 1945; Churchill's wartime coalition until the war in Europe ended, a Tory-only government until the GE, than Attlee's Labour one.
