THE BEANTOWN-TO-CHITOWN HSR ACT
SECTION I — Title
This legislation may be cited as the Beantown-to-Chitown HSR Act.
SECTION II — Atlake Express
1.A high-speed rail service, henceforth referred to as the 'Atlake Express', is to be operated along the following route:
'Route One' from Boston (MA) to New York City (NY);
'Route Two' from New York City (NY) to Chicago (IL).
2. An additional sales tax of 1¢ for every $20.00 will be implemented in order to fund the construction of the Atlake Express. This tax is to take effect one week (7 days) after this act's passing, and end three weeks (21 days) after this act's passing. It is estimated, based on Lincoln's population of 101,738,804 residents, the estimated Atlasian daily spending per capita of $164.55, and the 14 day period of the tax, that this tax will produce a total revenue of $11,718,784,138.70; any leftover revenue not spent on constructing the Atlake Express is to be used to fund the operation of the Atlake Express and to renovate the stations it stops at.
3. Certain rail stations are to be renamed, as following:
Hartford Union Station (Hartford) -> Lowell Weicker Station
Pennsylvania Station (Newark) -> Local Bagel Station
Union Station (Pittsburgh) -> Paul Skoutelas Transportation Center
Union Station (Columbus) -> Hometown Plaza
Indianapolis Union Station (Indianapolis) -> Timothy McCormick Memorial station
4. This legislation shall take effect immediately.
