BLITZER: Welcome folks to CNN's coverage of the 2016 elections. I'm your host Wolf Blitzer, I'm joined by John King, Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, and Anderson Cooper. Our goal is to keep you informed as hundreds of millions go to the polls. But first, we have our official CNN Exit Polls.

2016 Exit Poll:

Clinton (D): 50%
Cruz (R): 42%

As you can see, Secretary Hillary Clinton holds a large lead over Senator Ted Cruz. Other statistics of note include that up to a full third of Cruz voters don't see him as trustworthy, indicating a different Democrat could have easily outperformed Clinton. John?

KING: Thanks Wolf. As we get into our first poll closings, we need to look at the numbers for the states. We have the first ones from Indiana and Kentucky.

Indiana (6% In) :
Clinton (D): 86,479 (52.7%)
Cruz (R): 68,756 (41.9%)
Johnson (L): 8,204 (5.0%)

Kentucky (3% In) :
Cruz (R): 34,459 (54.5%)
Clinton (D): 24,532 (42.5%)
Johnson (L): 1,269 (2.8%)

But, before Democrats get their hopes up, these results come from areas that are more Democratic than the rest of the state. On the congressional side of things, we have note something. Due to the large number of races, only the elections with new representatives via retirement, flip, or competitive races will be shown. Both Kentucky and Indiana remain too close to call.

Vermont (5% In) :
Clinton (D): 10,815 (67.5%)
Cruz (R): 3,653 (22.8%)
Johnson (L): 705 (4.4%)

Once again, the numbers here are favorable to Democrats, although we can project that Hillary Clinton will carry the state of Vermont and its 3 Electoral Votes. That brings us to a total of 3-0. We can also project that Sen. Patrick Leahy will be re-elected to another term.

PRESIDENT:
Clinton/Heinrich (D): 3 EV
Cruz/Fiorina (R): 0 EV

SENATE:
D: 37
R: 29

HOUSE:
D: 8
R: 4

COOPER: We now have Michael Steele and Donna Brazile for their takes on the election. Donna, we'll start with you. What do you make of this:

BRAZILE: Thanks Anderson. I think that the results we have so far are clearly an indication that the American people are rejecting Senator Cruz's message of far-right conservatism. I'm hopeful for our party's chances in Congress as well.

COOPER: Michael?

STEELE: Of course. I believe that Republicans have really shot themselves in the foot here. We could have nominated someone like John Kasich to run and as some polling showed, they would be very capable of defeating Secretary Clinton.

BLITZER: Thank you both. We will now go to John King as polls close in South Carolina.

KING: That's right Wolf. But before we go into detail we have more exit poll data- it looks like Jason Kander is up by 10 in the exit poll, severely complicating the Republican's attempts to take the Senate. But as you said, we have gotten results from South Carolina:

South Carolina (4% In) :
Cruz (R): 39,873 (47.4%)
Clinton (D): 39,705 (47.2%)
Johnson (L): 3,280 (3.8%)

Once again, Senator Cruz is underperforming polls, and once again, the results are biased in favor of Democrats. We can, however, project that Senator Tim Scott will win election to a full term over Pastor Thomas Dixon.

BASH: What about the other elections from Indiana and Kentucky? Any updates on those?

KING: Thanks for asking Dana. An interesting race of note is occurring in Indiana, where City Councilor and former pageant winner Shelli Yoder is facing off against unpopular Governor Mike Pence. The race gained large amounts of press coverage after she selected South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg as her running mate due to the anti-LGBTQ views of the Governor. Currently, Yoder is outrunning Secretary Clinton by 3% with South Bend and her home town not reporting, so she is very much capable of winning. As for the Presidential races, we have more numbers, including from New Hampshire

Indiana (11% In) :
Clinton (D): 151,625 (50.4%)
Cruz (R): 130,566 (43.4%)
Johnson (L): 17,148 (5.7%)

Kentucky (11% In) :
Cruz (R): 118,315 (55.9%)
Clinton (D): 84,662 (40.0%)
Johnson (L): 7,407 (3.5%)

South Carolina (7% In) :
Cruz (R): 73,311 (49.8%)
Clinton (D): 66,244 (45.0%)
Johnson (L): 6,035 (4.1%)

New Hampshire (5% In) :
Cruz (R): 19,617 (52.8%)
Clinton (D): 14,378 (38.7%)
Johnson (L): 2,786 (7.5%)

Also, we can project that in Kentucky incumbent Sen. Rand Paul will be re-elected to a second term. While Paul is pulling in only 48% of the vote- running seven points behind Senator Cruz- he is still ahead of Democrat Jack Conway, who is pulling in 45%. A left-wing third party is currently pulling in 4%. Speaking of the state, we can now project that Ted Cruz will carry the state of Kentucky.

PRESIDENT:
Cruz/Fiorina (R): 8 EV
Clinton/Heinrich (D): 3 EV

SENATE:
D: 37
R: 31

HOUSE:
R: 15
D: 5

COOPER: Welcome back folks. As we approach 7:15 PM, we have more poll closings for you. The states of Georgia, Florida, and Virginia are all too close to call at the present moment. But, we can call the state of South Carolina for Senator Ted Cruz.

Indiana (22% In) :
Clinton (D): 294,828 (49.0%)
Cruz (R): 267,752 (44.5%)
Johnson (L): 36,703 (6.1%)

South Carolina (17% In) :
Cruz (R): 182,689 (51.1%)
Clinton (D): 158,021 (44.2%)
Johnson (L): 14,658 (4.1%)

New Hampshire (10% In) :
Cruz (R): 34,926 (47.0%)
Clinton (D): 33,439 (45.0%)
Johnson (L): 5,499 (7.4%)

Virginia (3% In) :
Cruz (R): 68,495 (57.3%)
Clinton (D): 44,587 (37.3%)
Johnson (L): 3,586 (3.0%)

Georgia (4% In) :
Cruz (R): 83,102 (50.1%)
Clinton (D): 74,808 (45.1%)
Johnson (L): 7,132 (4.3%)

Florida (20% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,128,520 (59.9%)
Cruz (R): 648,098 (34.4%)
Johnson (L): 82,896 (4.4%)

North Carolina (6% In) :
Clinton (D): 136,841 (48.1%)
Cruz (R): 131,151 (46.1%)
Johnson (L): 14,224 (5.0%)

Downballot, we can project that Senator Johnny Isakson will defeat Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson to win a third term. It's also important to note that North Carolina has redistricted quite a bit under court order, so we can now project our first House pickups.

In Virginia's 4th District, Donald McEachin will win by a landslide margin. The seat was redistricted upon court order. In North Carolina, we have two flipped seats. In the 2nd District, Deborah Ross will defeat incumbent George Holding, while in the 6th District Kathy Manning will emerge victorious.

PRESIDENT:
Cruz/Fiorina (R): 17 EV
Clinton/Heinrich (D): 3 EV

SENATE:
D: 37
R: 32

HOUSE:
R: 31 (-3)
D: 17 (+3)

John, am I right that we have more calls?

KING: Yes Anderson. Right now we have poll closings in Ohio and West Virginia. We can also call the Vermont Gubernatorial Election for Phil Scott, who looks like he will end up with a margin of about four to five percent. We can also immediately call West Virginia for Ted Cruz.

West Virginia (2% In) :
Cruz (R): 8,072 (56.5%)
Clinton (D): 5,772 (40.4%)
Johnson (L): 214 (1.5%)

Ohio (5% In) :
Cruz (R): 130,662 (47.2%)
Clinton (D): 130,615 (47.2%)
Johnson (L): 7,474 (2.7%)

COOPER: Anything interesting downballot?

KING: Sure. In Ohio former Governor Ted Strickland is battling against Senator Rob Portman. In West Virginia, the Governor's race is a close fight between Former Senator Carte Goodwin and State Senator Bill Coles. In Congress, Richard Ojeda is running a populist campaign against Alex Mooney, and appears to be winning. Back to you Anderson.

COOPER: Thanks John. We also have further projections. We can now call the state of Indiana for Ted Cruz. Despite this, the race for Senate and Governor remain too close to call. It appears we have gotten another vote dump as well.

Indiana (22% In) :
Clinton (D): 294,828 (49.0%)
Cruz (R): 267,752 (44.5%)
Johnson (L): 36,703 (6.1%)

New Hampshire (24% In) :
Cruz (R): 83,110 (46.6%)
Clinton (D): 81,326 (45.6%)
Johnson (L): 12,841 (7.2%)

Virginia (12% In) :
Cruz (R): 253,422 (53.0%)
Clinton (D): 205,606 (43.0%)
Johnson (L): 15,779 (3.3%)

Georgia (19% In) :
Cruz (R): 393,160 (49.9%)
Clinton (D): 359,280 (45.6%)
Johnson (L): 33,091 (4.2%)

Florida (20% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,987,533 (54.1%)
Cruz (R): 1,495,242 (40.7%)
Johnson (L): 165,321 (4.5%)

North Carolina (17% In) :
Clinton (D): 364,879 (48.0%)
Cruz (R): 351,956 (46.3%)
Johnson (L): 38,008 (5.0%)

Ohio (10% In) :
Cruz (R): 263,539 (47.6%)
Clinton (D): 260,217 (47.0%)

COOPER: Welcome back folks. We have more poll closings for you. First, we can project that Hillary Clinton will win Washington DC. Also, we just realized we had mistakenly used 2012 nominee Gary Johnson as the Libertarian candidate, it is actually Bill Weld. Our apologies.

Anyway, we can now project that Secretary Clinton will win Maryland and it's 10 electoral votes; Delaware and it's 3 electoral votes; New Jersey and it's 14 electoral votes; Connecticut and it's 7 electoral votes; Rhode Island and it's 4 electoral votes; Massachusetts and it's 11 electoral votes, and finally Maine's 1st District and it's 1 electoral vote.

As you can see, Governor Weld is cracking 10% in several of these states. We'll see if it continues. Pennsylvania is, of course, too close to call.

Washington DC (2% In) :
Clinton (D): 5,683 (91.3%)
Cruz (R): 373 (6.0%)
Weld (L): 161 (2.6%)

Maryland (7% In) :
Clinton (D): 136,290 (70.0%)
Cruz (R): 46,338 (23.8%)
Weld (L): 10,708 (5.5%)

Delaware (5% In) :
Clinton (D): 11,383 (51.3%)
Cruz (R): 8,143 (36.7%)
Weld (L): 2,352 (10.6%)

New Jersey (6% In) :
Clinton (D): 135,746 (58.4%)
Cruz (R): 80,192 (34.5%)
Weld (L): 10,459 (4.5%)

Connecticut (4% In) :
Clinton (D): 32,437 (49.3%)
Cruz (R): 25,594 (38.9%)
Weld (L): 5,921 (9.0%)

Rhode Island (4% In) :
Clinton (D): 9,282 (50.0%)
Cruz (R): 8,038 (43.3%)
Weld (L): 1,095 (5.9%)

Massachusetts (9% In) :
Clinton (D):159,801 (53.4%)
Cruz (R): 87,980 (29.4%)
Weld (L): 44,888 (15.0%)

Maine (1% In) :
Cruz (R): 3,503 (45.4%)
Clinton (D): 3,465 (44.9%)
Weld (L): 547 (7.1%)

Pennsylvania (8% In) :
Clinton (D): 238,727 (48.4%)
Cruz (R): 236,754 (48.0%)
Weld (L): 10,851 (2.2%)

New Hampshire (31% In) :
Cruz (R): 106,429 (46.2%)
Clinton (D): 105,047 (45.6%)
Johnson (L): 16,816 (7.3%)

Virginia (25% In) :
Cruz (R): 507,043 (50.9%)
Clinton (D): 445,282 (44.7%)
Johnson (L): 39,846 (4.0%)

Georgia (33% In) :
Cruz (R): 681,489 (49.8%)
Clinton (D): 626,751 (45.8%)
Johnson (L): 56,106 (4.1%)

Florida (52% In) :
Clinton (D): 2,610,857 (53.3%)
Cruz (R): 2,091,625 (42.7%)
Johnson (L): 191,038 (3.9%)

North Carolina (30% In) :
Clinton (D): 643,905 (48.0%)
Cruz (R): 622,441 (46.4%)
Johnson (L): 67,073 (5.0%)

Ohio (21% In) :
Cruz (R): 552,270 (47.5%)
Clinton (D): 548,782 (47.2%)
Johnson (L): 38,880 (3.0%)

BASH: Is there any downballot action of interest at the moment?

KING: Thanks for asking Dana. As we mentioned earlier, Pennsylvania had to redraw their congressional districts due to an absurd gerrymander. So, we can project that in the 5th District, Doctor Eric Ding will win. In the 4th district, we can project that Shira Goodman, an activist who received lots of media coverage when she upset favorite Madeleine Dean in the primary, will win the election. And finally, in the 6th District, we can project that veteran Chrissy Houlahan will defeat incumbent Ryan Costello to become a member of Congress. In the 17th District, we can also call the election for Conor Lamb. Back to you.

BASH: What about the Senate or the governorships?

KING: Currently, former Representative Joe Sestak is leading Senator Pat Toomey by a small margin, which is good for the Democrats. In North Carolina, Attorney General Roy Cooper leads the race for Governor while Senate nominee Jeff Jackson is ahead by slightly less. With the slew of presidential calls, we can also make some down below. For instance, Donna Edwards has won in Maryland, defeating Dan Bogino. In New York, Chuck Schumer has easily turned back a challenge from a no-name challenger, while in Connecticut Richard Blumenthal has easily won a second term over Manny Santos.

BASH: I heard we had some flips in Florida?

KING: Yep. We can project that in Florida's 7th District, Businessman Chris King will defeat incumbent Representative John Mica to win his first term. In the 10th District, former police chief Val Demings- notable for coming close in 2012- has also flipped a seat.

PRESIDENT:
Clinton/Heinrich (D): 56 EV
Cruz/Fiorina (R): 33 EV

SENATE:
D: 39
R: 32

HOUSE:
D: 84 (+9)
R: 64 (-9)

Oh... Hold on... Really? Okay. Well folks, we have a major projection to make. Hillary Clinton has now carried the state of Florida and it's 29 electoral votes. This comes along with our next projection that Jared Golden will defeat Bruce Poliquin in Maine's 2nd District for the Democrat's 10th gain of the night. In another important hold, Representative Patrick Murphy will hold Florida's 18th District for the Democrats.

Maine (11% In) :
Clinton (D): 38,627 (45.5%)
Cruz (R): 38,203 (45.0%)
Weld (L): 6,367 (7.5%)

New Hampshire (43% In) :

Cruz (R): 146,668 (45.9%)
Johnson (L): 23,326 (7.3%)

Virginia (39% In) :
Cruz (R): 766,124 (49.3%)
Clinton (D): 716,396 (46.1%)

Georgia (47% In) :
Cruz (R): 962,809 (49.4%)
Clinton (D): 896,543 (46.0%)
Johnson (L): 79,909 (4.1%)

Florida (67% In) :
Clinton (D): 3,307,187 (52.4%)
Cruz (R): 2,758,093 (43.7%)
Johnson (L): 227,211 (3.6%)

KING: Hey folks, welcome back. We have more poll closings now all the way to the Mississippi, with the exception of Arkansas. We can, of course, make a few immediate projections. First, we can project that Hillary Clinton will win the state of Illinois and it's 20 electoral votes and New York and it's 29 electoral votes. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz will win Alabama and it's 9 electoral votes; Mississippi and it's 6 electoral votes; Tennessee and it's 11 electoral votes; and Louisiana and it's 8 electoral votes.

Alabama (0% In) :
Cruz (R): 23 (92.0%)
Clinton (D): 2 (8.0%)

Mississippi (0% In) :
Cruz (R): 246 (78.3%)
Clinton (D): 69 (20.0%)
Weld (L): 5 (1.7%)

New York (0% In) :
Clinton (D): 54 (100.0%)
Cruz (R): 0 (0.0%)

Illinois (0% In) :
Clinton (D): 19 (98.0%)
Cruz (R): 1 (2.0%)

Louisiana (0% In) :
Cruz (R): 52 (52.0%)
Clinton (D): 45 (45.0%)
Weld (L): 3 (3.0%)

Tennessee (0% In) :
Cruz (R): 126 (57.5%)
Clinton (D): 93 (42.5%)

Maine (11% In) :
Clinton (D): 38,627 (45.5%)
Cruz (R): 38,203 (45.0%)
Weld (L): 6,367 (7.5%)

We also have more down-ballot calls for you folks. For instance, Todd Young has narrowly defeated former Senator Evan Bayh to win election to the US Senate. In Alabama, Roy Moore has defeated former US Attorney Doug Jones in a closer-than-expected race to succeed Richard Shelby. On the other hand, we can now project that Joe Sestak has defeated Senator Pat Toomey in a rematch, and will be headed to the upper chamber next year.

We can also project that Hillary Clinton has won the state of New Hampshire and it's 4 electoral votes, as Chris Pappas defeats Frank Guinta for the Democrat's 11th gain of the night.

Pennsylvania (35% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,055,221 (48.9%)
Cruz (R): 1,040,115 (48.2%)
Weld (L): 43,158 (2.0%)

New Hampshire (55% In) :
Clinton (D): 192,504 (47.1%)
Cruz (R): 185,147 (45.3%)
Weld (L): 28,609 (7.3%)

Virginia (51% In) :
Clinton (D): 985,598 (48.5%)
Cruz (R): 975,437 (48.0%)
Weld (L): 65,029 (3.2%)

Georgia (61% In) :
Cruz (R): 1,231,897 (48.7%)
Clinton (D): 1,176,246 (46.5%)
Weld (L): 103,712 (4.1%)

North Carolina (57% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,215,773 (47.7%)
Cruz (R): 1,185,187 (46.5%)
Weld (L): 124,890 (4.9%)

Ohio (45% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,178,453 (47.3%)
Cruz (R): 1,170,979 (47.0%)
Weld (L): 69,760 (2.8%)
Case (P): 34,880 (1.4%)

Minnesota (10% In) :
Clinton (D): 145,788 (49.5%)
Cruz (R): 132,535 (45.0%)
Weld (L): 13,842 (4.7%)

Michigan (3% In) :
Clinton (D): 69,039 (47.7%)
Cruz (R): 67,881 (46.9%)
Weld (L): 2,749 (1.9%)

Wisconsin (6% In) :
Clinton (D): 86,427 (48.4%)
Cruz (R): 83,034 (46.5%)
Weld (L): 4,107 (2.3%)

Iowa (17% In) :
Cruz (R): 127,787 (54.4%)
Clinton (D): 96,310 (41.0%)
Weld (L): 4,698 (2.0%)
Case (P): 3,053 (1.3%)

Missouri (2% In) :
Clinton (D): 28,282 (50.0%)
Cruz (R): 26,642 (47.1%)
Weld (L): 1,131 (2.0%)

Down-ballot, we have even more interesting results. For instance, though we only have a few percent of results in Missouri, Jason Kander is outrunning Secretary Clinton by about 25 points. We'll see if that holds up. We can also project that Tammy Duckworth has defeated Mark Kirk in Illinois, while Maggie Hassan has won in New Hampshire, bringing them up to 43 seats. Despite Democratic hopes, we can also call Iowa for Steve King, who will succeed the retiring Chuck Grassley

In the House, we can project that Barbara Comstock has fallen to State Senator Jennifer Wexton, giving the Democrats twelve gains on the night. Additionally, the Democrats have held on to all their Long Island seats. Wait... Seriously? Okay. We can also project that Gwen Graham has narrowly won re-election in a district that was made much, much, redder, in what must be one of the biggest political upsets.

BASH: Hello viewers. As we wait for the next poll closings- Arkansas in a couple minutes- we have John King here to go over the down-ballot results that have occurred during that time. John?

KING: Of course. The first projection we can make is that Shelli Yoder has been elected the next Governor of Indiana. Yoder ran an economics-focused campaign, and Pence seems to have acknowledged his defeat. In other news, Nate Silver now gives Secretary Clinton a 96% chance of winning the election, up from FiveThirtyEight's 90% chance this morning. The biggest projection of all, however, is in Florida. We can now project that businesswoman Stephanie Murphy- a complete unknown a year ago- has defeated Carlos Beruff to be elected the next U.S. Senator from the state. Republicans reportedly are very mad, seeing as Marco Rubio narrowly missed the filing deadline due to a misunderstanding. In the House we have even more flips.

For instance, we can now project that Josh Gottheimer has won in the 5th District, riding the suburban hatred- well, even more than usual hatred- of Ted Cruz across the finish line. On the polar opposite of the Democratic spectrum, we can now project that Richard Ojeda has defeated Rep. Alex Mooney in West Virginia's 2nd District. Brad Schneider has also won his rematch with Bob Dold, giving the Democrats 15 gains on the night.

COOPER: Sorry John, we have an update. CNN can now project that Hillary Clinton will carry the state of Minnesota and it's 10 electoral votes. She will also- in a big win for Democrats- carry the state of Pennsylvania and it's 20 electoral votes. The Democrats will also carry Maine and it's 3 remaining electoral votes.

BLITZER: And is it correct that at this point the Democrats basically only need to win one of the uncalled states they are leading in to be on a near-unstoppable path to 270 electoral votes?

COOPER: That's right Wolf, although there are still plenty of votes to be counted. One place where that will not be enough is in Missouri, where Jason Kander is projected to defeat Senator Roy Blunt. Kander is looking at a win somewhere between three and six points at the end of the night. Assuming the Democrats win the White House, the Senate currently looks like a lock for them.

BASH: What about on the Gubernatorial side of things?

KING: Glad you asked. As of right now, we can project that Colin Van Ostern has defeated Chris Sununu to become the next Governor of New Hampshire. Likewise, Roy Cooper is also on the verge of winning his race. As for House calls, we can project several.

In Virginia's 1st District we can project that Elaine Luria has defeated incumbent Rep. Scott Taylor to flip another seat for the Democrats. In Florida Charlie Crist has knocked off David Jolly, and in Georgia's 6th District Jon Ossoff has defeated scandal-ridden incumbent Tom Price, giving the Democrats a total of 18 flips for the night so far.

In what counts for good news for Republicans, it appears Ted Cruz will narrowly carry the state of Georgia, and that Rob Portman will be re-elected in the Senate by a margin of eight percent. Senator Cruz will also take Missouri's ten electoral votes.

Clinton (D): 298,986 (44.4%)
Weld (L): 12,794 (1.9%)
Case (P): 11,447 (1.7%)

In other results, we can now project that Max Rose will carry New York's 11th District, while Angie Craig will take Minnesota' 2nd District. This brings the Democrats to 20 flips. We can also project that Susan Wild has taken Pennsylvania's 7th District as well.

KING: Thanks for asking Dana. As we mentioned earlier, Pennsylvania had to redraw their congressional districts due to an absurd gerrymander. So, we can project that in the 5th District, Doctor Eric Ding will win.

In Alabama, Roy Moore has defeated former US Attorney Doug Jones in a closer-than-expected race to succeed Richard Shelby.

Good job making me throw up by sending a communist and a pedophile to Congress.

KING: Welcome back folks. We have more calls to make. First, we can project that Hillary Clinton has carried the state of Michigan and it's 16 electoral votes. She will also, as expected, take Virginia and it's 13 electoral votes. This brings her up to 200, only 70 away from the Presidency. We can also project Arkansas and it's 6 electoral votes for Senator Ted Cruz.

Virginia (67% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,300,144 (48.7%)
Cruz (R): 1,273,447 (47.7%)
Weld (L): 90,769 (3.4%)

North Carolina (74% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,581,681 (47.8%)
Cruz (R): 1,535,356 (46.4%)
Weld (L): 148,903 (4.5%)

Ohio (79% In) :
Clinton (D): 2,064,467 (47.2%)
Cruz (R): 2,042,598 (46.7%)
Weld (L): 113,720 (2.6%)
Case (P): 61,234 (1.4%)

Michigan (30% In) :
Clinton (D): 722,233 (49.9%)
Cruz (R): 658,549 (45.5%)
Weld (L): 44,868 (3.0%)

Wisconsin (30% In) :
Clinton (D): 433,029 (48.8%)
Cruz (R): 416,958 (46.7%)
Weld (L): 24,106 (2.7%)

Iowa (57% In) :
Clinton (D): 422,217 (47.3%)
Cruz (R): 421,324 (47.2%)
Weld (L): 16,960 (1.9%)
Case (P): 16,922 (1.9%)

Arkansas (0% In) :
Clinton (D): 14 (100.0%)
Cruz (R): 0 (0.0%)

BASH: Do we have any down-ballot results?

KING: Yes Dana. As of right now, we can project that state AG Roy Cooper will be the next Governor of North Carolina, defeating incumbent Pat McCrory. In less surprising news, we can call Arkansas's Senate race for incumbent Sen. John Boozman

Further down-ballot, we can project that Haley Stevens has flipped Michigan's 11th District, while Pat Ryan has flipped New York's 18th District. Meanwhile, a pair of retirements have led to flips- in Florida's 27th District Scott Fuhrman has won, while in New Jersey's 11th District the retirement of longtime Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen has allowed veteran Mikie Sherrill to defeat Assemblyman Tony Bucco.

PRESIDENT:
Clinton/Heinrich (D): 200 EV
Cruz/Fiorina (R): 99 EV

SENATE:
D: 45 (+5)
R: 38 (-5)

HOUSE:
D: 136 (+25)
R: 128 (-25)

BASH: Am I also right that we have more poll closings?

COOPER: Yep. CNN can immediately project that Ted Cruz will carry Oklahoma and it's 7 electoral votes, North Dakota and it's 3 electoral votes, South Dakota and it's 3 electoral votes, and finally the state of Nebraska and two of it's three districts.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows for the Cruz camp, however, as Kansas and Cruz's home state of Texas remain too close to call. We can also project that Hillary Clinton will carry Nebraska's 2nd District and it's 1 electoral vote. A- wait- we can also call North Carolina and it's 15 electoral votes for Secretary Clinton.

North Carolina (81% In) :
Clinton (D): 1,731,299 (47.8%)
Cruz (R): 1,676,970 (46.3%)
Weld (L): 152,122 (4.2%)

Ohio (90% In) :
Clinton (D): 2,351,925 (47.2%)
Cruz (R): 2,331,993 (46.8%)
Weld (L): 124,572 (2.5%)
Case (P): 74,743 (1.5%)

Wisconsin (50% In) :
Clinton (D): 749,989 (50.4%)
Cruz (R): 674,097 (45.3%)
Weld (L): 38,689 (2.6%)

Iowa (72% In) :
Clinton (D): 537,837 (47.7%)
Cruz (R): 529,994 (47.0%)
Weld (L): 22,550 (2.0%)
Case (P): 19,168 (1.7%)

Texas (5% In) :
Cruz (R): 251,586 (56.1%)
Clinton (D): 168,172 (37.5%)
Weld (L): 17,041 (3.8%)

Kansas (7% In) :
Clinton (D): 36,800 (43.9%)
Cruz (R): 36,046 (43.0%)
Weld (L): 10,143 (12.1%)

BLITZER: And these usually come with more down-ballot action, right?

KING: That's right. In this case we have several senate calls. For instance, we can project that Cruz backer Kris Kobach will succeed Jerry Moran in Kansas, defeating state legislator Tom Sawyer in a closer-than-expected race. In Oklahoma, we can announce that James Lankford will turn back a weak challenge to win a full term. In South Dakota, we can project that John Thune will destroy weatherman Phil Schreck to win a third term. And finally, we can call North Dakota's election for John Hoeven, who has gone unopposed. This also means that Republicans have denied the Democrats a supermajority in the Senate.

BLITZER: What about the House?

KING: Well, beyond the usual safe calls, we can project that MRS ABBY FINKENAUER has flipped Iowa's 1st District for the Democrats-

BASH: Why is the Congresswoman-elect's name capitalized?

COOPER: Must be some kind of secular being at work.

KING: Anyway, we can also project that veteran Rachel Reddick has defeated Brian Fitzpatrick to flip Pennsylvania's 1st District. In Georgia's 7th District, we can call the race for activist Lucy McBath, who will defeat incumbent Rob Woodall. And finally, we can project that Antonio Delgado will defeat Claudia Tenney to win in upstate New York.

PRESIDENT:
Clinton/Heinrich (D): 216 EV
Cruz/Fiorina (R): 116 EV

SENATE:
D: 45 (+5)
R: 42 (-5)

HOUSE:
R: 163 (-29)
D: 151 (+29)

COOPER: Since we have a slight break in the voting, we thought it would be good to get some outside perspective. So, please welcome Clinton campaign manager Jim Messina and Cruz campaign chairman Louie Gohmert. Welcome, gentleman.

MESSINA: Thank you Anderson.

GOHMERT: The left is destroying America.

COOPER: What do you make of the results?

***PARTISAN HACKERY***

COOPER: Thank you. We return now to our election coverage. In the time elapsed we can make more calls- the first major one being that Hillary Clinton has carried the state of Wisconsin and it's 10 electoral votes. Down-ballot, we can project that Russ Feingold has defeated Ron Johnson in a rematch of their race six years ago to return to the Senate. Feingold, who is currently outrunning Clinton by just under half a percentage point, virtually guarantees the Democrats at least 50 senate seats.

It's not all bad news for Senator Cruz, however. We can project that he will carry his home state of Texas and it's 38 electoral votes, as well as the state of Kansas and it's 6 electoral votes.

Who is not getting any good news is Paul Ryan. Democrats have officially flipped Florida's 27th District with Debbie Mucarsel-Powell; New Jersey's 3rd District with Pamela Rosen-Lampitt- who will defeat incumbent Tom MacArthur- and New Jersey's 7th District with Tom Malinowski. Finally, we can project that Elissa Slotkin has emerged victorious in Michigan's 10th District, giving the Democrats a total of 33 flips on the night.

Anywa- Really? Man I do this too much, but anyway we can now project that Hillary Clinton has won the state of Iowa and it's 6 electoral votes.

Ohio (94% In) :
Clinton (D): 2,456,455 (47.2%)
Cruz (R): 2,446,046 (47.0%)
Weld (L): 130,108 (2.5%)
Case (P): 88,474 (1.7%)

Cruz/Fiorina (R): 116 EV

SENATE:
